An Unofficial Calorie Count Guide to a Fad-Free 2009

I posted this up a few days ago in the Health and Support forum, but think it'd be worthwhile popping a link up to it here, too, for all of you looking to lose weight healthily, eat right, and avoid the faddy pitfalls that come around this time of year particularly. I hope it provides useful to as many of you as it can! :D

Good article. Considering I'm already a CC member and convinced Calorie Counting is the way to lose weight and change my overall lifestyle... well... it's a bit of a miss on me.  But I know many here come in and ask about the fad diets so hopefully you help some out.

brand new at the calorie count.  Hello all

I'm new here as well. Just starting to learn my way around the forums and what I need to do. I have started a journal and I'm hoping a couple of regulars here can find me so I can learn how to interact better....every friend I have tried to find have not logged in for months, so heres to hoping someone current reads this and finds me!

What a great bunch of information! As a professional writer, I know that it was a lot of work for you to put that together as cohesively as you did. Great job, and also as someone who is in need of much of the information you posted (and advice, motivation, etc); THANKS!!!

I am new to the C C forums, so thanks for all the wonderful information.  I have finally decided that eating healthy foods and watching my calorie intake is the only way that I am going to get the fat off and keep it off.  Thanks again.

I am looking for support. The more the merrier. Drop me a line. Its always good to have a support system to help with these kinds of things. I am also new to CC and i never knew just how many cals i was consuming a day. No wonder i am 50lbs over weight. I want to love my body not injure it by embarking into another fad diet...been there gave up. I have used the tools on this site advice from experts etc. to help learn which foods are my friends and which ones are a trap to weight gain. I am as well going to use CC and exercise to help get the weight off. Good Luck All! Hope to make friends with some of you soon!

I used CC once before and lost 16 lbs, but of course have gained it all back (and then some). So here I go again. I joined WW for 2 days and got sick of the stupid point system. I would rather count calories and get to eat more of what I want. I'd like to exercise more but I have a broken ankle right now(and broke the other one 2 yrs ago). According to CC i should lose 90lbs. I doubt if that will ever happen...I'm trying for 50. I want to get healthier for myself and my daughter. Good Luck to us all!!!

Great info. A freind of mine found cc, and was saying how great it is, and wanted me to check it out. So here i am, we found some amazing tips and are now trying to start this weight loss journey together, because it's time for us to change our lives!! Wish us luck!!

Does anyone have any tips on how to be good-ish and as healthy as you can be with Chinese food?  It's Chinese new year tonight and i am very nervous and panicky about what i can n cant eat ??

Any help would be fantastic..... x

Honestly, I would just go with it, celebrate, and eat small portions of everything. One meal will not kill your diet or weight loss goals.

Well feel all sluggish n bloated but did really enjoy it !!  starter was great, just shredded duck with loads a fruit, melon n mango etc.  Had 1 rib, my favourite lol, n just tried the other appetizers and gave em to my other half lol.

probably had 1 spoonful of rice n 1 piece of meat/fish from the 6 dishes for ma main, so really dnt think il av gone over.  had 2 pints of tap water and half glass wine with soda, decaf coffee and 1 scoop of ice cream with fruits.

Feel quite proud of myself!!!  1st major meal out, was very very nervous and bit uptight  but enjoyed it lol

Think the sluggish/bloated feelin is because of the high fat content compared to my usual pure unprocessed diet.

Well impressed with myelf, good feeling guys!! keep on goin, goals gettin closer lol  ;0)))
