Helpful solution to PMS?

Quote  |  Reply
Hi. It was refreshing to see that I'm not the only one who suffers from PMS binging. Between that and my mood swings I feel like a freak! I'm having a difficult time dealing and what's more frustrating is that my friends do not experience this so no one in my circle truly understands. In my research to find help, I stumbled across "Women to Women" website. On the site it talks about using nutitional supplements among other things to normalize ones hormonal imbalance. The result will hopefully eliminate the uncontrollable binges/moods that PMS sufferers experience. Is any one familiar with these products? What are your thoughts?

Hi,

If you are over 35 you may have become estrogen-dominant.  This means your progesterone levels may have dropped off.  This can sometimes exacerbate  PMS.  To learn more, check out the books by Christiane Northrup-  "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom" and "The Wisdom of Menopause."  She goes deeply into supplements as a way to balance hormones and to just feel good again!

The other thing is if you are craving carbs  like mad it might mean you have blood sugar issues.  I experience this so I never eat any carbs without balancing them out with a little protein.  Check out, "The Insulin Resistence Diet."  For me, this has been a total life saver.
I am the same way. once a month I have a battle against myself when it comes to cravings and binging.  My moods are insane and I turn into a completely different person. My friends and family dread 'that time of the month'... I know exactly what you are going through:)
I also can't seem to shake the cravings that start about 5 days before I start...and I spend the next week or two working off the binge. I am hoping to find strategies to help with this because it is definitely putting a damper in my weight loss goals.
