Hi all! I apologise in advance if there is already a thread like this. I was watching Dr. Oz today and he was giving a few tips for weight loss so I though why not have a thread where we can share tips.
The ones he had on his show I'm sure are on his website but I figured I'd share what I remember.
He said that sleep is a big one. If you are sleep deprived your body will crave carbs and you won't be able to stop craving them until you satisfy the craving by having some (which in my case is largely chips or cinnamon buns)
He also said that for a salt craving the first step is water. He said that if you crave salt your body is probably thirsty.
That's all I really remember but it's a start and I thought it could help a few people on their weight loss journeys.
Thanks for the tips. Here's some more:
Instead of potato chips I eat Popchips. I couldn't find them locally so buy from Amazon and pay no shipping. Now when I crave chips I eat these. They are lower calorie and fat.
Also, for donuts I order from www.holeydonuts.net . You have to pay shipping but once you order from them you'll get lots of discount offers. The donut have to be kept in the freezer so if you don't have freezer space these won't work.
And, Vitalicious Vitamuffins warmed in the microwave are the best. Triple chocolate, for example. But these have to be kept in the freezer also.
And, sign on for www.hungry-girl.com daily free email with tips on top low cal. foods. See their "Chew the Right Thing" for archived ideas.
Disclaimer: I don't have any connections to these products or webs----they help me stay on my diet.
On his site Dr. Oz also says that fatigue causes sugar cravings. Suddenly everything makes sense...I was begining to think I was hypoglycemic or diabetic or something. I would crave sugar then crash right after I had it.
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
