Im 15yrs old and on saturdays nd sundays I usually have an "off-day" which means that I dont log what I eat on cc... the only things I eat out of the ordinary are.. a piece of chocolate [which is off-limits on weekdays] and I usually eat pasta for lunch [which I dont usually eat on weekdays.. since I normally base my diet on protein and veggies]..
but even though I dont actually binge.. I feel really bloated.. and especially on saturday night I dont feel comfortable when wearing a thight top or something which actually shows off my figure.. since I see my tummy sticking out.
I'm not actually overweight.. I weigh 54kg and am 157cm tall.. so according to the bmi im in a healthy weight.. I think that this might be something psychological..
can anyone give me any suggestions pls.. about what I could do!
tnx xXx
Because you're young and a healthy weight, I really think calorie-counting, logging a food diary and your 'protein and veggies' diet are not only unnecessary but they're also not doing you any favours.
A growing teen needs good nutrition, not calorie-restriction. Frankly, I'm worried that if your definition of an 'off-day' means you eat a little pasta or a little chocolate, your weekday menu is going to be totally inadequate. Instead of being too concerned with numbers try to get a more balanced diet, eat plenty, eat regularly and get lots of exercise. This website will give you some pointers on how to achieve a healthier lifestyle without calorie counting.... http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/agesandstages/teens /
Since you mention 'something psychological', I'm also printing out a list of five questions. If you can answer 'yes' to more than two of them, you probably need to think about getting some help.
- Do you make yourself Sick because you feel uncomfortably full?
- Do you worry that you have lost Control over how much you eat?
- Have you recently lost more than One stone (14lbs or 6.5kgs) in a 3 month period?
- Do you believe yourself to be Fat when others say you are too thin?
- Would you say that Food dominates your life?
get the psychological thing taken care of while you still can. Im 5'3 and weight 87 lbs becuase of my eating disorder. Dont let it mess up your life like it messed up mine. Get help now
