Has anybody ever tried Herbalife?  There is a local distributor and of course they are boasting about their great success with weight loss.  I've read mixed things from the internet and just wondered if anybody on here had ever tried it.  I've gained almost 30lbs since getting married 2.5 yrs ago and I'm at my wits end!  I exercise for at least 1hr 5 days a week (step, bootcamp, or kickboxing).  Some of it is defintely the eating habits my husband and I have developed (he's also gained a bit of weight) but I'm feeling like I need a bit of a kick-start to lose a few pounds to give me some momentum....any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

I tried Herbalife a couple of years ago, did nothing to me. I think the point is that you spend a lot of money on something that makes you feel guilty and the guilt may keep you on your diet :-) I personally don't think these things work, but they trick your mind and you may end up losing weight.

I haven't tried the pills...but their shakes and green tea are awesome!  I currently have started drinking one shake, then eating well balanced the rest of the day. I enjoy them.  The rasberry green tea really gives me a boost of energy. The local distributor is super nice, they just came to town recently I think.

I think that's the best description of these "diet aids" I've seen.

I used Herbalife about 10 years ago when it had ephedra in it.  They said it wasn't ephedra, but Mah Huang...same type of thing but I guess under the FDA radar.  Anyway, make sure if you take anything is DOES NOT have either ephedra or Mah Huang in it.  They are dangerous and can cause major heart damage.  It gave me the Jitters which should have been my 1st clue that it wasn't good for me, but I was so desperate to lose weight I did it anyway.  I lost about 100 lbs and gained it all back...

Currently I'm 198 and healtier than I've been in a long time...I jog and eat right and NO Jitters!

The only praise I've heard is from Herbalife distributors who rave about how much money there is to be made in that market.  To them I say - Sorry bub, but you're not getting mine!

I gained 40 lbs in the last 1 1/2 year and I had been feeling so down and was looking for something to jump start my weight loss I even tried atkins but couldnt completely stay away from carbs. 1 week ago I started on Herba Life all i can say is I feel good and I have lost 3 lbs!! More than I had managed to loose in 1 week all this time. And yeah their shakes and you cant live off them the rest of your life but its a good start, if your like me you'll be watching your weight and what you eat all your life so there you go! :0) I will keep you updated

My co-worker lost 100lbs with Herbal Magic, not sure if it is the same thing.

She paid $300.00 a month for the herbal pills and counselling.  Food was extra.  After being off the plan for about a year, she gained back about twenty pounds.

I have lost 40 lbs and my husband lost 50.  My husband has now signed up as a distributor and is a weight lose coach and is coaching Weight Lose Challenges and does one on one coaching.  We don't only promote weight lose we promote healthy lifestyle, exercise, and good food choices and eating habits in both adults and children. I lost 30 pounds in teh first 12 weeks and am eating much better now, still take the vtimins that give me tons of energy with B vitamins.  These products do not have any harmful ingredients in them, they may have in the past??  I feel great and exercise 3-5 times a week as well.  My husband at 56 is in teh best shape of his life and feels great as well.  It takes discipline to start, then gets much easier and I do eat anything I want, only eat less of it and have no cravings or desires to eat more.  I hope this helped.  Also if yo break teh price down for teh 30 day plan and how much you spend for groceries, vitamins, suppliments, what ever you are currently taking or eating, it is not as expensive as you may think.  The benefits for us has surely outweighed the price.

I'm using Herbalife since April. Thanks to their products (especially for the Formula 1 Nutritional Shake) finally I've achieved my weightloss goal. I've lost 20 pounds during a three months period in a relatively healthy way. In my esteem their products are very healthy and it's easy to keep your diet with the shake because it's nutriotious and you won't feel hungry between meals. So just give a chance! If you will follow their recomandations you'll see RESULTS.

I agree!  It works if you follow the plan 3-2-1.  Suppliments 3 x a day, shake 2 x a day 1 healthy, colorful meal. If anyone wants to look at products, more info, or order online this is the website

May I suggest looking at the shapeworks plans, shakes come in serveal flavors as well, I love the cafe latte!!!

If you woul dlikemore infor on these products please ask me I would love to  help.

If you're pretty certain that the bad eating habits you and your husband have developed in the last 2.5 years are what's making you both fat, then the answer I would have thought is to tackle the bad habits directly.   If you ignore them temporarily while you go with Herbalife I think what will happen is that the minute you get the opportunity to stop you'll embrace your old bad habits like a drowning man embraces a life-ring!

If you exercise for an hour most days of the week your calorie intake for weight-loss will be quite generous.  You should be able to work with that and come up with some creative and delicious healthy menus.   Much more pleasant and sustainable, not to say cheaper, than supplements, shakes and 1 'colourful meal' a day.

I do agree that it is about eating habits, and exercise.  I have done and tried many, diets, exercise programs, and actually am quite aware of the nutritional value of foods, but have always had weight issues even so.  For me this is a way to control my calories, get the vitamins and minerals my body needs and ensure I am getting both breakfast and lunch instead of skipping meals due to time restraints.  No counting calories or measuring foods.  I have no luck sticking with that.  This is easy, precise and nutritious.  I don't get hungry, or tired. It is not for everyone, but it is for me and has worked. My doctor said whatever I was doing, keep doing it.  So I am!  Feel great, weigh less than I have in 15 or more years.

I did about 6 years ago, lost 15 pounds just like that...gained back 30!

Learned shakes, powders and pills are not the answer..this time around am doing it properly.. watching what i eat and counting the calories
