They market meal replacement shakes and snacks, as well as "weight-loss enhancers and appetite suppressors" that contain herbs, vitamins, minerals, and natural ingredients. There is not enough scientific evidence to support the effectiveness their products. The products are relatively safe, although some have been found to contain potent stimulants and laxatives. The company is multi-level marketing (MLM) company that relies on infomercials, testimonials and hard-selling distributors. The real issue is that comparable shakes and snacks can be purchased elsewhere for less. Herbalife has its share of negative publicity over the past 30 years.
