What do I do for at home exercising that a 225 pound girl can do?

I cant do launches, jumping jacks, or anything that involves jumping. I can do crunches, but i can do sit ups, push ups or anything like that.

Im just TOO fat.

I do got a stationary bike, and I got a tread mill and a Gazelle, but none of those helps with losing belly fat...

What do I do guys?

Im so confused!

with the right combination of diet and exersize the gazelle and stationary bike WILL help loose weight.  Although you cannot spot reduce and just loose your belly doing those exersizes will definetely help you.  They are low impact and great for cardio, which is the main thing you want to do when trying to loose weight.
nods

Thank you guys so much...

I do want to lose weight EVERYWHERE.. not JUST my stomach, but thats where MOST of my body fat is...

I got a huge stomach, and its very ugly...

Thanks again guys
First of all your statement "I do got a stationary bike, and I got a tread mill and a Gazelle, but none of those helps with losing belly fat..." is quite far from truth.

If you want to reduce fat, you must do enough cardio.

bike = cardio

running on treadmill = intense cardio

gazelle = not sure what that is but must be close to an elliptical. Which is again cardio.

So hop on your bike and start pedalling. Elliptical should also be easy to start working yourself. If you are too fat, then start gently. You can walk to start with, walk 3 miles a day. If you want to run, go to the 'learn to run' thread right here in fitness forum. Running is amazing sport unless you are too much overweight and can not run or have a physical condition that prohibits running.

Just remember to set specific goals e.g. bike 20 miles a week to start with. If u can do more, DO MORE.

You said u can do crunches. then DO THAT.

Now, the truth of the matter is body doesnt like to lose fat from any specific location, and it doesn't care what you desire. You need to start cardio and awaken your body. Once it starts losing fat, you will lose it from all over the body. Dont worry too much about only the belly.

Diet: Keep your diet at about 500 cals below your maintenance level (e.g. if your BMI says u need 1500 cals a day, then eat about 1000 cals every day). Spread your meals throughout the day. Eat about 55% carbs, 25-30% proteins and 15-20% fat (fat = healthy fat - oatmeal, olive oil, olives, salmon, flaxseed. NO saturated fat). Drink enough water.

It will be a long post if i start elaborating but there is a lot of material here on C-C in terms of plenty of posts and replies. Please go thru the posts and you'll learn a LOT.

You are not going to get anywhere if you dont do anything under the assumption that it doesnt work. Good luck !!
Thank you so much...

I cant run on the treadmill yet, im just too big... I can only go about 2 miles per hour on the treadmill... on the exercise bike, i go about 20 miles per hour.. so yeah..

Im trying to stay within my calorie intake limit... i just got to get use to the feeling of being hungry i guess... im use to feeling full all of the time, i guess thats why im so fat! lol

Thanks guys
Eating right and exercise what you can will help lose the fat.  The body will choose where to lose it first but keep at it and pretty soon you will be losing the weight and will be able to workout and do things you can't do right now.
kaykay08,

2 miles per hour is just fine. You can walk a mile at that speed. There is no need to start running. You can choose whichever cardio suits you best. You are good in biking. So keep at it. The links given by 'united2gether' are really good. Pick a few that you can do.

Craving sensation: Well you are not alone. Everyone gets that and it's hard to overcome. That is why one must spread their meals throughout the day. Lets say 5 meals a day, one every 3 hours. East less at a time but eat more no. of times. Count the calories and 500 calorie deficit. Normally you get the craving stimulus after 2-3 hours of a meal. If not planned we overeat. So plan for it. Eat fruits or vegetable salads with light dressing or fat free yogurt when the hunger strikes. They will add very insignificant calories but will satisfy the urge. Keep trying. It may take time to adjust initially but please dont give up thinking it wont work.

The good news is, if you are too much overweight, by just doing things right, you will see results much quickly than those who are just a bit overweight or those who have 'the last stock of fat' left on their body.
First off, you're not too big to do that stuff. I was 220 and 5'2 when I started working out, and after pushing myself to walk at 3.0mph for a mile, it felt awesome. You'll eventually work to the point of running. It doesn't really matter about your size...it matters about your physical fitness. You can be a bigger size and still feel fit and able to exercise more. You just have to push yourself and come to the realization that you CAN do this and you WANT to do this.
I agree with niktasticc I was 230 lb when i started at my gym and i did and still do at 211 all of what you claim you cannot do.

I walk at 3.2 and run at 4.2 for seven minutes now, even if you only manage 2 crunches, try for 3 tommorow its all in your head what yuo can and cannot do, and no one ever said shifting a small child in wieght was going to be easy.

Dance!
I am 34 years old, 5'2" and 313 pounds. Yes, THREE thirteen, and I started at 343 in mid-April. I started walking 30 minutes a day, then increased it to an hour if I have time and take 3-6 mile hikes in the hills on most weekends (sometimes longer). If I don't have time to walk on a given day then I do 40 minutes on the elliptical at the gym. I do cardio exercise at least 5 days a week, usually 7. I also do strength training twice a week. I feel great! It was hard at first but now it is so exciting and motivating when I do something that I know would have been very difficult a couple of months ago that is now not all that hard! I have a long way to go still with the weight loss but I am getting in pretty good shape for my size. I think about all that I will be able to do when I lose the weight on top of it and that helps me stay motivated. I also enjoy exercising so much more than I used to, and that will help me stay on top of it to lose this weight.

I don't run or do much jumping either because I have had knee problems in the past and at my size I do not want to push my luck and risk an injury. But there is a LOT you can do at your size.  You just need to build up to it gradually. Just don't convince yourself that you are "too fat" to exercise because that is just not true. Get moving and good luck!
I strongly suggest you do weight training. It will help you gain stamina and also balance. Cardio isn't all it's cracked up to be in my book. You can do hours of cardio and burn some calories but if you really want to see some results make sure you weight train. You'll have firm and strong muslces. Losing weight without a good strength training program will cause you to lose muscle. Also you'll help boost your metabolism if you gain more lean body mass.
K guys, thanks so much for all the help and support! I really appreciate it!
sorry posted twice
You are not to big at all I'm 5'5" 255lbs I've lost 30 already and in the last three weeks I've been spliting my time between the bike and the treadmill.  I've been working on getting up to 30 mins without dieing it happened last night.  So hit the bike and tread mill to increase your heart rate and then work those other things in.

Any exercise is better than none on jumping no matter what weight I'm at you will never find me jumping I'd kill myself with my boobs
I just came from 225, stop getting down on yourself.  I certainly understand the jumping thing, lol.  I have to laugh.  Invest in a piece of cardio equipment an elliptical or treadmill.  Get some light weights and look around for a routine.  If you can not invest in a piece of equip.  Walk, fast.  Check out Beachbody.com, they have awesome programs.  The most popular being p90 and Slim in 6 which don't create alot of turbulance.  Good Luck
You can walk in place.

Leslie Sansone has some great walking videos to get you started.
LMAO! yeah im with you Dawnder, i certainly would kill myself with my boobs, lol...

and jjlewis, i have a treadmill and stationary bike that i get on almost everyday... im slowly working up to where i can stay on there longer and longer..

The hard part for me is the food part. We dont have much healthy food in the house, we are very tight with money, and i dont control what the family buys, so idk!

But i am trying! very very hard!

Thank you guys!
