Your heritage and it's stereotypes.
I'm, like most of us Americans, several different things but mostly Polish. You'll often see me offending other Pollocks by blaming every single mistake I make on my heritage, because that's what we really do. We're ditzy, to say the least.
Pollocks, at least in the Polish Village I grew up in, are known for random, perverted jokes, pranks, and Dingles Day.
Ever see a Polish windup toy? Lay your hand on your table, crank your thumb with another hand, and allow it to flop around. - Compliments of my great uncle, Mark.
According to the current (moronic) stereotypes, I'm supposed to be a wine-swilling, cheese-eating coward.

I'm a hard drinking, hard fighting, stubborn, short tempered lass. At least I'm supposed to be, I'm Irish ;)
I am supposed to be as well, and oh wait I can't lie I pretty much am as Irish as they come.... however Im only around half Irish the other bits are mainly Portuguese and Danish... but I don't know what their stereotypes are! Do you?
My (ridiculously huge) family loves to hug & kiss each other and strangers... which they do
My favorite food is Lasagna, NEVER with sauce from a can washed down with vino...which it is
My dad threatens to break any potential b/fs knee caps if he so much as breathes too heavily in my direction... which, fortunately, he does not!
I'm Italian incase you couldn't figure it out. AND...is it still a stereotype if it's true????
french: snails as food? yuck, well they did keep my fish tanks clean so they were ok. Cheese? yep, but only american or chedder. High fashion? nope, most of the time I'm in a t-shirt jeans and sneakers. very cheap. Lots of purfume? Yep, I admit I do love good scent and tend to go overboard time to time. Not shaving armpits or legs? only if I forget, otherwise everyday, I hate stubble. Ciggarette smoking? Nope not at all. Can answer a question with one word? not likely. lol
Irish: Have the accent? nope but I do it well. Red hair? Only when I dye it. Green eyes? Yep. I love all that is green, its my favorite color. Drink Irish Coffee? nope I perfer Frappachinos, caramel. yum... Seen a leprechan? nope, but if he would bring me gold, I'm all for it. Hot tempered? Sometimes, when someone really ticks me off. Catholic? nope. Meat and potato stew? no thanks. Loud drunk? ha, nope. I am normally really shy. and don't drink. lol
ohh, I'm also cajun (4th generation), so we have a pet alligator and I live on the bayou in a beat up shack and eat amadillo and have blacked out teeth, and speak with a thick southern accent. lol, so not true.
I have been told that I sound like a valley girl. lol. so much for stereotypes...
But I do love whiskey. I am incredibly stubborn. If you get me mad I've been told I'm scary as heck. But luckily I don't have a short temper. It's pretty dang hard to make me mad.
Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry....
:p
I am 50% Greek so just watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding...
Obsessed with food and eating, plate breaking, loud, gold chain wearing, fake nail having, excessive hair having...I don't know what else.
The other 50% is Hungarian.
It's a fun watch :)
EDIT: For a chick flick :
English. Do I speak English better than you? Perhaps, but there are people who speak it even better than I. I like scones, but would rather have a cuppa coffee with it. Overcooked, flavorless foods make me retch.
Scottish. I don't have a yen for sheep (I can't wear wool, much less romance it), and you could only get me to eat haggis if you paid me a few million USD and allowed me to employ some ipecac afterward.
Native American. I don't say "How" unless it is posed as a question. I don't collect scalps. You won't ever catch me doing a rain dance, because thunderstorms make my sinuses scream.
Jewish. I don't do guilt trips, and while I love matzo balls, you couldn't get me to touch gefilte fish with a 39 and 1/2 foot pole.
I'm about as ethnic as a slice of Wonder Bread.
Scottish- I didn't know the best way to describe it so I found this paragraph which explains the stereotype well...
The 'typical' Scotsman is often thought of as: a red haired, surly, penny-pinching Highlander who speaks with an impenetrable accent. He would be pictured strutting around the windswept, heather-clad moors in a kilt with a sprig of thistle on his breast, perhaps blowing a merry tune on a bagpipe before going home for a spot of whisky and haggis. When the Scotsman gets really tipsy, he becomes extremely maudlin and sentimental, singing the praises of his favourite football team and heaping curses on the despicable English.
I am 50% Québécoise. I drink my café au lait out of a cup the size of a bowl (I do... but with soy or rice milk). I put mayo on everything, even desserts (I don't). I am snobby (no way!). I eat escargot, soft stinky cheeses, and foie gras (HELL NO!).
I´m an Estonian. Since it´s in eastern Europe the first thing I get is "so...you´re a Russian, right?" NO. "but at least you speak Russian, right?" I wish!
Estonia has nothing to do with native Russians. Basically the only common thing with Russia is our eastern border :) and...the Soviet Union thing. Our ancestors are completely different and even our language is nothing like Russian. I wish I could speak Russian better though since I like languages and there are soooo many Russians here in our country mainly doing "lower" jobs like at a supermarket or emergency doctors or cops or..well..thieves.
I had a long distance relationship with a guy from Holland and his parents warned him for me since "those Eastern European girls are only after marriage and a green card to Europe". F*off, we ARE in Europe!
And my father (never met him) is Polish :)
