i am 5'4", 16, and 117. i used to range between 98-106 for the last few years and i want to get back to that again, but thats eating around 1200. although im normal weight now and i eat around 1500, im more comfortable being underweight because i was all of my life until i got my period and i had to start worrying about being thin.
I'm 15 years old, 5'4 and 118 pounds. I eat 2400 on lightly active days to maintain that. I supplement for exercise.
Since I'm looking to gain, I add yet another few hundred calories to that, so I need around 2600-3200/day. I'm only 2 pounds from my goal now.:] I need to be a higher weight because I have yet to regain my period after Anorexia.
You guys seriously need to eat more! 1800 calories is the minimal caloric requirement for teenagers. Weight gain during this time in our lives is natural and shouldn't be so shunned. We're growing and developing! Anorexia is not fun, attractive, or healthy. Eating 1200 calories or less a day is eventually going to make your body hate you. You'll regret it later in life.
I understand that some people are naturally thin, but if you aren't that way, don't fight it! Honestly, some of you guys sound a tad eating-disordered.

thats not overeating either. heck, that isn't even eating up to your maintenace cals!

Hey peacelove! You are so sweet! I play volleyball and i just finished my paddling season, i am also doing tactical strength and conditioning it's where we do like weight lifting and squats and lunges and all that good stuff!

5'3, 110lbs, eating 1600-2000 cal a day, depending on activity. on normal days i just eat 1600. if i exersiz and burn 200, then its 1800, etc. im trying to maintain!
o my gosh i freakin love volleyball. i was fantastic server, i even scored 11 points in one round-straight!! woop woop! but i was such a terrible passer.
are you on your school's team?

Marekat, you realize that you're going to gain it all back when you try and eat normally again right? I lost 10 pounds eating 1200 calories a day back in September, and I gained every single pound back plus 2. It may work now, but it won't in the long run.
did you count your calories to make sure you weren't eating above maintenance?
hey i am new, i am 16 and 5'4" and at the moment 106 poinds, and eat about 1500 calories a day, but depends on how much chocolate is in the house at the time
! But that the problem so now i am changing my life by first changing my body. i have started jogging and althought at the moment i am an embarrassment to the sport i am getting better slowly. i would reli apperciate people adding me as at the moment i am such a loner and i think it will be good to have someone with the same goals to help each other.

This is my first time actually looking at what I eat.

I've noticed that a lot of people burn a lot of calories like 1,000 at least, what do you guys play or do to burn that many calories?

I average 1800 calories/day.
I'm active 5 days/week at the very least. (Lacrosse practice Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday + games, ballet class Mondays, and I walk at least a mile Wednesday. I usually do yoga and pilates on Saturdays & Sundays. I walk the dog every day that I don't have lacrosse... Oy, that looks like a lot more typed up than in my head!)
For the girls that are ages 15+ that are around 100 lbs that are 5'0"+ you are underweight and should be eating at least 1800 calories a day.
-Just for those girls, I've had entire classes of guys tell me that girls THAT skinny are gross to look at because they are TOO skinny. There is a point where skinny is too skinny.

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
