WHOS WITH ME!?!?!?!?
Oh wow, finally a 160/170's club! A club I can fit in at 173.5! Woot!
I just started Monday with a weigh in at the doctor - 171. I never realized I had gained that much weight (about 20 pounds in the past year since I had my gallbladder out). My doctor gave me a goal of losing 6 pounds in the next eight weeks before my next appointment. Doesn't sound like much, but it's freaking me out! Motivation please!
Go Jennelaw! You CAN do it!
You're definitely in the right place. This site is awesome - full of support and good info.

Hey, 174 here and hoping to be in 160's soon. I just hope I am not at a platue or however you spell that. Ha Ha. Anyway, I have been at 174 for 4 days now and it hasn't budged a bit.
I'm 172-173! Hoping to hit 160's soon...puhleaseeee!! haha
I weighed in at 184 this morning.. hopefully I can be in this club in the next week or two. *crosses fingers*
jennelaw I agree with newdock, this is the best place to find motivation. You'll be joining the 160s club in no time. Good luck. Shaye I'll be seeing you in this club within the next few weeks I'm sure, you're doing great!
Started at 185, now am at 176, have 30 to go!
I CANNOT wait, until I'm in this club!! It seems like I've been at 182 forever!!!
I think I need a little help anyone want to shove me in the right direction? I have been slacking lately and really need the motivation. What have you done to stay motivated? Help me please!!

To stay motivated????? Hmmmm...here's some of my mind games....
- I bought a bikini and force myself to wear it out in the backyard.
- I exercise (at home thank goodness) in skimpy exercise wear (spandex crop top and low-waisted shorts) which makes me work extra hard because it reminds me why I am doing this (ever been hit in the eye by your belly-button??? Not pretty!!)
- I fill my home with only healthy foods and keep the fridge stocked even if it means lots of trips to the grocery store (always on a full stomach). There is no excuse to eat out and no tempting bad stuff to grab out of the cupboard.
- I read the boards every day and glean great information and tips from all the posts.
- I enter all my food into my journal BEFORE I eat it. I can eat whatever I want, but I must be accountable to myself. I do this even if my food is sitting on the table getting cold. I have been known to discard things after entering them and making better choices.
- Personally I weigh myself every day to keep myself accountable (this doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me - if I only weigh myself once a week, I am more likely to be "bad" early in the week and then smarten up closer to weigh in day). I prefer to look at each day as a mini-challenge as it keeps me on track - an entire week is a bit overwhelming.
- I get exercise videos from my local library (they have 218 of them) so I never get bored. Yesterday I tried belly dancing for beginners which, surprisingly, was one of the hardest workouts yet.
- I tell people around me that I am doing this. If people know that you are eating healthy and trying to lose weight (I know this requires you admitting to people that you are fat - it's hard, but necessary, and BTW, it's no secret - they already know that) you will be more likely to stay on track when there are "eyes on you".

Well, I've been very good all week. Followed my diet right down to the two bananas and an apple every day that my doctor ordered (have I mentioned that I REALLY don't like bananas???). I am going to weigh in tomorrow and hope that I have made it down to the 160 club.
I woke up dreaming of doughnuts, so I'm trying to stay extra motivated today!

Thanks for the shove DJ, I think it was what I needed to help get me back into things. I have been eating better (not great at times but better). I also started walking again on Sunday. Vicki, I am so competitive that would be great to do but most of my friends aren't concerenced with losing weight right now. Maybe I'll see if my husband wants some friendly competition. Good luck all.
I'm down three pounds!!! My official weigh in at my doctor appointment yesterday puts me at 168 (actually 167 and 3/4) but I'm not going to be greedy since I made them let me take my shoes off....That's been enough motivation to get me through the last two days and hopefully the rest of the week.
Good luck everyone!
Good luck everyone!
good job and congrats!
Yea, most of my friends were the same way, until one got engaged! That's the only reason I have any competition!

160 club is good. I was feeling left out too.
About a year ago I was about 176 and now I'm at 168 myself. I was wondering why there wasn't a 170/160s club, so I'm glad someone started it. My goal is to eventually be in the mid-150s, although I don't care as much about weight as a number, but how i feel and look. I know I don't drink enough water and have a tendency to enjoy food because it's soooo yummy, but I do watch what I eat and try to avoid excess splurging.
I suffer from a severe lack of motivation. I want the results, but my body/mind is stubborn about going to the gym and all that. With a full time job, two kids and a Master's degree in progress, it seems like there are plenty of excuses at my disposal. (I try not to use them, but sometimes its just too easy.)
I am 5'10" and I have additional constraints of back, knee and hip injuries that limit my abilities and help demotivate me. (It's especially hard when you used to be active, but can't really even jog anymore with out pain for days.) If anyone can help me out in the motivation department I would be extremely grateful.

I'm on day 11 and down to 172.5 from 177. How often does everyone weight themselves? I'm thinking once a week so I don't get too discouraged. Any thoughts? This is a whole new lifestyle for me, and so far I am liking it. I gave up caffeine completely and started this diet all at the same time. Wish me luck! Good luck to all of you!
