Hi everyone, I would love to join your club!  I'm 179 today!
Hi Ama!

I'm down to 170.5 today...gonna be in the 160's soon.....!!!
I am joining in on the 170?s club.  I started at 180 in January 06.  I was shocked I had gotten that high, I was buying bigger and bigger cloths just to feel comfortable.  Having served 8 years in the Army I was ashamed of myself.  I was 105 in 1995 (too thin), 1 year AFTER having an 8 pound baby girl.  And when she turned 12, all of a sudden I was 180 pounds (just 5 pounds lighter then I was the day my daughter was born - and no more babies are due).  That did not make sense to me.  But, in a way I had stop caring.  In July of this year I took a photo with my 2 sisters (sleeveless), and I was the obvious fat one in the picture.  Then I found CC.  First I counted just to see how much I was actually eating everyday.  Then I asked the question; ?what should I be eating in order to get down to 140??  I started cutting cals on 8/4/06.  I weighed in on that day at 182.6 pounds.  I had to take an OTC appetite suppressant the 1st 2 weeks just to cut 300 cals out of diet.  Then I discovered walking and developed a taste for diet sodas. (That was hard ? I WAS a die hare Pepsi drinker- and I can?t stand diet Pepsi). Now when I do drink soda, Sprit zero is my favorite choice.  I also walk up to 30 min around the neighborhood at least 3 times a week and park further from the door when I go to work.  I still have fried foods once or twice every other week, and my ?poison? is 3 to 4 oz of flavored rum on Friday or Saturday nights, (mixed with Sprit zero of course).  Today I weighed in at 175.4.  WoooHooo.  Slow but sure.  I feel like I still eat what I like so I don?t feel the need to over eat all the time.  Plus exercise burns that rum and occasional Big Mac burger off.  I?m loving it. And can hardly wait to give away my size W16 suits and buy some new size 12 or even 8?s.  40 more pounds to go. Hang in there with me.
I weighed in at 178 today!  I'm very happy about that, I've been on a wierd plateau for a looooooong time!
stuck at 166/167, hate those plateaus.
Count me in. My heaviest weight was 225. I started counting caloreis about two years ago when I weighed 216. I now weigh 175. I'm looking to continue losing until I am 165. I will be satisfied with a pound a month.
I'm in:) I'm starting at 170...actually about 2 weeks ago started...did weight watchers last year and went from 195-164...which I was happy with. Started a new job, quit running, gained back about 5...and trying to get down to 150....good thing is, i'm TALL, so I carry it well, I just want to feel better about myself....my size 12s are getting a bit too snug. A little discouraged at this point...seems like every day i've been under on my cals by about 100, then I walk 1/2 hour every night (cant run b/c my knees are bad now) and the scale just doesn't seem to budge! I mean, i'll go down to like 169.8 one day, and up to 171 the next, but I'm EATING well...plus, I gave up my coke zero that I love so much b/c of the artificial sweetener...everyone says it's bad...so I quit...drinking just water now...and still no real results....getting a little frustrated! So, I guess the 170s club is where i'll be until I get some results!!!
Weighed in at 177.6 yesterday! Only 37.6 more pounds to go! I've been on a pleateu for about a month now so I'm happy I'm finally losing again!!
Looking forward to joining you soon.  Today Sept 18 I'm at 181.5.  Hope to be in your club during October and November.
Jillithan,
when you say you're under you calories by about 100 every day, what do you mean? Have you done the calculator thing on this site to figure out your expenditure? How big is your deficit? Are you eating less than 1200 calories a day? You need to be eating enough calories so your body doesnt feel like it is starving.

I have been stuck in 170+ range for 2 years now since giving birth to my daughter. I used to feel fat at 160 lbs while living in NYC.  For Cleveland I am an average size for my 5'10 frame, but I really would like to see myself back to 160.  I used to have a lot more energy and did not feel out of breath after running 1 mile.

I just started this a week ago and would love to hear any tips on how to stay on track. I keep going up and down 6-7 lbs every few weeks. Cannot stick to low calorie intake, which is what I really need. Please help with any motivational tips... I am starting to loose faith that I will ever be able to join 160 club.
Hi - you sound a lot like me.  I've bounced between the 170's and 160's since I had my daughter 18 months ago.  I am 5'9 and I'd like to weigh about 140.  I currently weigh 170 but I've been dieting for a little over a week and a half and I started at 174.  I am a chronic snacker...I love carbs and sugar.

I've found some great success by snacking with Swiss Miss diet hot chocolate...it's only 30 calories, but it's still be hard.

I need help getting motivated to workout - by the time I get home from working all day, all I can do is lay on the couch and watch TV! I haven't yet been able to crack the 170 mark but I'm trying really hard!!!!!

Let me know if you have any tips!
I'm in at 170. I fluctuated between 140-150 for 9 years. I realized I had to do something Jan. 06 when I tip the scales at 180...yikes!!

I gained 20lbs+ within my first 2 years from transitioning from NY to GA.   I clearly remember seeing the rotating disc go higher and higher on each visit to that evil device some refer to as a scale...155,160,165,170...until I finally put it away just to revisit it 10 pounds later.

Looking back I don't think I was concerned about gaining weight because I had lost a substantial amount of weight without hardly any effort in my early 20's . What I didn't know was that a decade+ later really takes a toll on your metabolism...lol

I'm in the 170's club! But, sorry, I don't want to be here much longer! Maybe another week or two? I'm at 172 and eyeing the 160's club, hoping to make my way over soon.

Ah, the 170's - I've spent a lot of time here over the past few years...
179 today!  So I'm in the 170's club.  When I graduate to the 160s club I'm going to need some  new pants.  For now I'm using belts, but it feels so good not to have to "suck it in" to get the zipper closed.
nikidust,
Hey, sorry I didn't know you had messaged me! My goal is to lose 20 lbs by dec 31st. Calorie count said that per my body type and age and activity, I should consume 1598 calories a day. I try to keep it around 1400 a day, just so that on Sunday, my "cheat" day, I can cheat WITHOUT actually going over. I need that one day a week just to stay sane. Plus, I find myself not really going much over on Sunday, just because i'm aware of my calories...that's the biggest thing for me...just being able to see it on paper, otherwise, I loose track. My scale is gradually going down now, and more importantly, my pants are fitting SO much better. I weighed this morning at 167.2! So, almost OFFICIALLY 3 lbs...but I really think I started closer to 172-173 ish...It's finally paying off! That's the motivation that I need.
