Is HFCS good for you or not?

I read a piece saying HFCS stops the body realising that it is full, turns to fat quicker, and is generally something to be avoided if you can. But then I see its apologists on a sponsored link on Calorie Count. What am I to think?
Answer
A popular theory is that High Fructose Corn Syrup (HCFS) alters hormonal patterns in favor of adding body fat and increasing the appetite; however, the scientific evidence is insufficient to conclusively support that claim. The link between HCFS and obesity is largely accounted for by its contribution to overall calorie intake, especially in the form of sweetened beverages, a major source of excess calories in the American diet. HCFS is not a necessary food and should not displace nutritious foods in the diet. Calorie Count does not necessarily share the views of its ad sponsors.
