Hi everyone,

I got started on the forums this weekend in the Fitness section but thought I would introduce myself here.

My roommate got me back into getting healthy thankfully.  We were walking 3 miles a few days a week.  Not long after we started, I decided to weigh myself since I hadn't in a while and I was shocked to see 217 (this was on 4/27).  The last time I checked I was 180 something but that was like a year and a half ago.   That number was the incentive I needed to get my butt in gear.  It also helped that we started it together and I feel a little competitive with it too lol.  Since then I've lost 20 lbs as of today through a combination of watching my calories, walking/jogging and recently went back to the gym.

I'm 28, 5'10, and male (incase you can't tell from the pic hehe) and would like to get down to 160 ... though I have been slightly overweight for some time so I honestly don't know what a good weight would be for me.  I need to lose more fat though and also want to build muscle and muscle tone.

The highest I ever got was in the 260s I believe (back in 2000 and before) and the lowest was in the 170s (in 01), which I achieved through unhealthy means.  It's nice that I am actually eating this time around, being healthier and doing something I can stick with for the rest of my life.  I'm holding onto that old mindset a little (that less is better), as I was informed on the fitness forums that I am not consuming enough calories.  So I am going to amp that up a little : ).

Glad to have found this site and looking forward to getting to know new people.

Best of luck to all of you in your goals!
