My name is Gregg.  I live in a rural part of northern Indiana. I am semi retired work part to help pass the time. I am the father of two wonderful girls that grown and married and grandfather to 4 wonder full grandchildren.  My interests are hunting, fishing and wood working.

I never had a weigh problem till I retired from the Navy 10 years ago but I have slowly gain 75 pounds and it has created some health problems. So now I need to loose the weigh.

I discovered Calorie Counter searching on the Internet and it looked like a good program and tool for weigh loss.

The reason I joined the 50 somethings is are age gives us something in comman and it will be nice to here from people my age.

Hi Gregg,

Living in northern Indiana, it won't be easy for you to keep up your activity level.  Do you have a plan for exercise or activity over the winter?  Do you snowshoe?  I do some snowshoeing in the winter and want to try cross country skiing this winter.

Hi,

Yes I do cross country ski, I own a large piece of land so I'm able to do any time.  If the weather not real cold I do walk.

I can sure relate to the creeping weight gain.  I was always a bit on the husky side for most of my life but the combination of quiting smoking at 42 and just the effects of aging, I gained over 60 pounds adding to the 50 I had always carried.  At 55 I went on a diet and lost most of the extra weight and have managed to keep it off.  I am still working on the last 20 pounds. Basically it has required a complete change of eating habits and a lot of work.  Good luck to you
