Hi Everyone!

My name is Ally, I'm 22 years young & I'm a junior at San Diego State University. I've had problems with my weight my entire life, mostly due to the fact that I was born 3 months premature. After I was born, they injected fat (calories) into me because I weighed less than 2 lbs at birth and needed it to survive. Well, the fat have always stayed with me and when I was younger I was always into eating sweets and anything carbohydrate related.

My first 3 years of high school, my weight continued to escalate to 150 lbs. I'm 5'3" by the way. So, I decided to make a change right before my senior year of high school. I wanted to loose the weight and get slim. Well, by the end of the year, I weighed 115 lbs and that was achieved with pure diet and exercise. I kept a food diary and wrote down every calorie consumed and burned. It was tough but I did it.

Now, that I'm in college, I've struggled with the "freshman 15". I've been fluctuating between 120-140 the past 3 years or so. I'm back to working out at the gym for 45 minutes a day of cardio plus weight training and I'm eating between 1200-1500 calories a day. I want to loose at least 10 lbs before April because I'm going to see my boyfriend who is a US Marine for my spring break and I want to look hot =)

I currently weigh 135 lbs (with shoes on) as of Sunday February 22, 2009. Hopefully by April 2nd, I'll be closer to 120 and if not 120 than maybe 125.

I'm willing to help motivate anyone and/or communicate with anyone who needs a motivating buddy or something of that nature. Take care and best of luck to everyone =)

Hi Ally! I went to SDSU back in 1998!  I lived in Chapultepec and used the gym on campus everyday, it was so nice to just walk there!  I live in Washington now.  I'm also trying to reach my goal weight in April, mid-April for me, as we are going on vacation to Hawaii.  I also just want to feel better, as I tend to eat unbalanced (too much sweets and carbs).  I'm 5'4" and weigh 126 lbs, and would like to get down to 118-120.  Those last 5 pounds or so is so difficult isn't it!  I started out at 132 in January, so it's been slow moving for me, and I've been stuck at 126 for like 3 weeks!  According to this website I am supposed to consume approx. 1575 cals per day (based on my activity level, which is 5xs per week doing an interval treadmill routine for 45 minutes, and weight training twice a week in addition).

I would love to be motivating buds with you!!! I don't know about you, but for me, night time is the hardest.  I fix dinner for my hubby and child and portion control is definitely challenging, but mostly it's the after dinner chill time that I so badly want sweets.  Ugh!  I was drinking tea every night to stave it off, and that helps, but it gets boring.  Any advice?  I find that not eating 7pm makes me feel better in the morning and gets the weight loss on track.  But, again, it's just really challenging.  I need to be better at eating enough fruits and especially veggies too.

By the way, that's amazing that you got down to 115 in high school, that takes focus!  You can totally do it again!!  :) :)  I
