Hi! My name is Wendy. I'm a 37 year old female. I have a problem...I just can't seem to gain weight. It has got to the point where I am embarassed to where shorts...and I live in Texas. I am tired of people calling em "bones" or skeleton"...it hurts quite deeply. I decided that today was the day that I do something about it...so I Googled...and here I am![]()
I look forward to chatting with ya'll...and I look forward to getting to my goal weight...120!

Heya, welcome to CC! As Gibbit has said there's a helpful sticky at the top of the forum that should cover all questions you may have about starting to gain: The Aim is to Gain: Advice on Weight Gain, Whatever Your Reason
Good luck! :D
Hey guys...thanks so much for the welcome! I noticed quite a few spelling errors in my first post...opps![]()
I live in Houston Gibbit...where are you?
I read the thread you linked in your post lalabanana...it is incredible! Thanks so much for all of the amazing advice and pointers. I have a real assertive question...how long does it take to put weight on?
I've always been thin...but I have IBS...and then recently contracted a pretty nasty HPylori infection in my stomach and intestines (it was bad...ulcerations in both areas). The two week antibitoic doses were hell...but it's over now. I have an endoscopy next week to make sure it's all gone...but I am so very ready to get to gaining.
Thanks again ya'll!![]()
Hey i'm in Htown too!! at least we have plenty of good food options, right? haha, whereabouts in houston? i'm right downtown.
As for how quickly, it varies a lot from person to person, i've gone from about 97 back in january to 118 about a month ago, though i'm down a few lbs now from traveling a lot. But others have done it faster, others slower. It all depends on you metabolism, and how determined you are. Have you figured out how many calories you're eating now? You'll need to know that to start with and then increase from there until you see you're gaining weight. I wouldnt really go by the calculators, especially since you seem to be naturally very thin, you'll probably need a lot more than they tell you.
My stomach is really sensitive too, I don't know if it's IBS or what because I gave up on doctors, but I do have to be really careful about what I eat, and can't really just "go eat a lot of cake and donuts" like a lot of people might tell me to do, so I understand what you're up against, and can definitely give you some tips!
Oh man gibbit...we're too much alike! IBS has made life so much more complicated!!!! I swear that once I hit 30...bam...everything changed.
I live in Cypress. We just bought a house a little over a month ago. I live near the 290 and 1960 area.
I have a really fast metabolism...it's a blessing and a curse. I am really determined to gain quickly...but never had to chart what I ate or count calories before...it's all so confusing to me. Is there a calorie counter chart thingee here for me? I should search around shouldn't I![]()

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
