Hi sheebs!

I've been on this site for a couple of months or so. The site is full of information and it's helped me tremendously.

I am 42 and have had depression since I was 19. I have stories for you if you're interested! Feel free to add me as a friend or send me a message.

Wishing you success in your endeavors!

I'm 21 and I've been depressed since age 16..

I'm 39 and I've been depressed since 16.... Welcome to the club!

I've had bouts of major depression where my life fell apart and I thought I would lose everything.  I've dropped out of school--and returned.  I've been unemployed--and found a better job.  My marriage has nearly ended a number of times...

The important thing to remember is that in the end, the struggle is worth it.  There are times that I have felt like giving up.  If I had, I wouldn't have the comfortable life I have now with a wife and three wonderful kids.  I have a nice, relatively secure, job that I kinda like.  And a new house.

Considering the pain I've been through to get here, I couldn't really explain how I got here.  Thinking about it, just now, I'm amazed.  I don't think I could have imagined this life at age 21, especially if I knew that I'd be depressed through most of it.

I can honestly say that if I weren't depressed I'd be truly happy right now!  I just try to enjoy the parts that my condition allows me.  And continue the fight to feel better about my self and life.  And above all, try to keep thinking positively and maintain a sense of humor. Laughing
