Hi there!

Hi everyone, I'm new, just got started today. I'm 5'8" and I weigh, today 142 pounds. I'd like to be down to 128 by Christmas if possible. I run about 5 days per week, but only 2.5 miles per day, I know I need to up this in order to see real results. I want to lose the extra weight that I put on after having 2 babies right in a row. When I got married, I weighed in at 118, I know now that I was far too thin, I think a goal of 128 is reasonable for me. If anyone wants to drop in and say hello or add suggestions that you think may be helpful, I'm always open to suggestions and would love some feedback!

Hi christymoody! My weight gain began when I quit smoking cigarettes...However I started diet and exercise  at 147  lbs and I am now down to 134... I bought a pedometer and started walking once a day for a half hour and sometimes twice a day.. I bought a Wii Fit system to exercise at home for when the weather is awful, as it often is here in the midwest, and I can't get outside to walk. I also bought a set of exercise Dvds... As for my diet, I am vegetarian, and I cut out all sugar.  I also quit eating after my evening meal. I think this has made the biggest difference for me and my weight loss. I have always had trouble in the past with snacking at night. Now I handle the late night munchies with some rice cakes or other very light snacks if I absolutely have to have a snack.. I'm happy to report that I am smoke-free still as of July 23rd and have lost 13 lbs.. My goal weight is 125...I believe that I can be a healthy former smoker and have the fit body I want...Good luck!!!

Hey Lisa, Thanks for your response! I too, am a former smoker and I put on some of the weight when I quit. It's been years for me now though, so I've not got any excuse to be hanging on to this weight! That and my youngest is almost 2.5 years old. I thought about a pedometer. I work in a nursery school and run up and down the stairs about 50 times per day, but I've not gotten that far yet. I live in Dubai, but I'm American and have better eating habits than most here. I think my biggest problem is that my husband and I eat dinner late and I'm a snacker. I'm trying to limit my snacks to fruits and veggies, I know that example will be better for my daughters and my health. Congrats on losing the 13 pounds. I hope to be where you are in 6 weeks time!!
