Hi Guys, does this sound like a good plan?
Hi Guys, :)
I am a young woman ;) of 32 years of age, i am 156 pounds and my goal is 145 pounds. I am 5'7. I am planning on doing 5 days a week for 30 minutes on the Elliptical and 3 days of Gilads body sculpt, does this sound ok?
I have been trying to lose this last 11 pounds forever and i cant!!!
I have just started recording my food this morning here on Calorie count. It says i need 2000 cals a day, so i presume i go for 500 less to lose weight?
I sound so dumb, but i really want to understand and work on losing this weight. Does the calorie's eaten daily seem ok? - 1500 and does the excersise routine look good?
Really nice to meet you all! and thank you for the advice.
Sounds great!
Trust the math. The 500 calorie deficit will give you a loss of a pound per week. A lot of people on this forum advocate taking days off to rest between workouts, but since ellipticals are low-impact, you should be okay.
Good luck, take care!
thank you Azirra.
Sounds good! And I love Gilad!!
Welcome to CC Melanie!
Your plan sounds great as a starting point. One of the things that people frequently overlook when they decide to start a diet/exercise plan is that you have to be open to tweaking it as needed. Stick with this for a few weeks and then assess how you're feeling. How is your energy level? Are you binge eating occasionally (which could indicate that your body isn't getting enough nutrient-wise)? Are you constantly hungry? Depending on the answers to these, you may need to change your caloric intake.
Additionally, after a few weeks, changing up your exercise routine might help jump start things. You could trade in one of your elliptical days for running or walking outside, biking, etc. It's amazing how much harder your body works doing cardio outdoors than in the gym.
It's great to meet you, and keep up posted!
Just wanted to say I am right with you. I am 34 years old am 157 pounds at 5' 7" and want to get back down to 145 for the summer. I lost 30 pounds last spring to get to 145 but gained 12 back this winter. I am finding it really hard to go back to the calorie counting to get back to 145 but at least I know it is possible if I put in the work!
Good Luck!
