Hi I'm cindielou (I just joined the L.A. Group)

I'm not quite sure how these groups work, so this is my introduction.  My name is Cyndie.  I'm 42 years young and I live in live in the East Los Angeles area and I recently joined Sunday, February 22nd.

I weigh 213lbs and am only 5-foot 1.  I do occasionally lift weights and work out infrequently, maybe about once or twice a week.  I don't like the cold weather.  However, when the weather is warmer, I do work out more often.  I guess I'm a sissy L.A. girl who hates the cold.  I make a lot of excuses for not working out.  I do have a gym membership.  I like the way I feel when I go, but it seems that I totally agonize over going and easily make excuses not to go.  I use to be more physically active, but I think that my sedentary job as a secretary somewhat drains me, being in front of a computer all day.  Maybe I need vitamins...

I was inspired to join Calorie Count Group by my friend from work, who has successfully lost weight in a healthy and within a reasonable time frame.

I have been successful in my previous weightloss efforts.  However, I have seemed to let my eating habits get out of control.  I have come to the realization that most of my eating habits are do to boredom or depression; which categorizes me as an "emotional eater".  I realize that, but I not believe in taking anti-depressants and have decided to take action and this is my plan.

Logging my meals, so far, seems a bit tedious for me, but it is making me quite aware of what I am eating.  I like the idea that I will log activity as well.  I never use to plan my meals before, so I know that is definitely a comittment that I must make to be successful.  This is my 3rd day so far, and I have only worked out on Sunday, my first day.  I do plan to go to the gym tomorrow.  This logging stuff is helpful.  I know that regular physical activity will help increase my endorphins and therefore, give me a better, overall wellbeing; physically, mentally, psychology, etc.

I am open to suggestions and offer support, if needed.  I would be interested in starting a walking group that could meet at Griffith Park.
