Hi I'm fairly new to calorie counter .
Hello everyone I have been on calorie counter for two months now.
I began exercising at 257 lbs. in May but I wasn't counting calories. I was horribly out of shape. I could do an exercise bike for only about 5 minutes.
Now I do the treadmill instead I figure I lose calories faster that way. Instead of sitting on my rear I am carrying that weight. I don't know for sure how long I can do the treadmill because I only do enough to get a decent workout for now, because I don't want to push it yet.
I can burn 200 calories in one session on the treadmill, for now that's enough. Most of the time I try to get a 130 heart rate at least and keep it there for 10 minutes minimum. I have on occasion got heart rate up to 150 for a couple of minutes, but I don't know if that is good till I get more fit.
As of now I do weights approximately 45 minutes a week. It has help restore my muscle immensely. Today is November 3rd 2009 and I have lost at least 15 lbs. since May. I would guess I've lost 20 lbs of fat since May and gained 5 lbs. muscle.
I joined a Gym on Sept 1st and when I first weighed in I was 255 lbs. This morning after working out I was 242 lbs. I have been stalled there for 5 days.
So actually I have put 13 pounds away since Sept 1st. My goal is to be 234 lbs. by my 63rd birthday in January. My ultimate goal is to weigh about 205 lbs by July 4th 2010. That was that weight when I was 45 and in excellent physical shape with a 30" waist.
My waist now is 44" at the navel and was 48" in May 2009, I still have to trim at least 10 inches off to get to a 34" waist.
So I have lost 4 inches around the waist and have 10 inches to go by July 2010.
Calorie Counter has helped me a lot mostly by identifying the most nutritious foods. I always end up with an A or A - by the end of the day. With Calorie Counter I realize the more healthy food I eat the less I have to eat of it.
I got fat by eating in restaurants and fast food and being lazy. Those kinds of foods made me tired and lazy. I believe to much salt and sugar is in them.
