Hi! I'm a new CC member :)
I've posted in my Journal and added to my profile and I'm trying to find my way around the site. A friend sent me the link this week and I think it's a great site with great information. I now have a Toolbar for easy adding of foods. Several in my painting group have a contest going of the most percentage of weight lost by Sept. 4 and I'm losing so decided this might be the solution. Besides the cash I think my knees would thank me if I could get rid of that 20 lbs. I'm looking forward to reading in the Library of older posts, also. ns

Who came up with that idea? How does it work? Do you watch each other paint, or are they all still lifes, so you each pick a part and do it?

I'm so glad I can tell you about my workout routine - You'll think this is pretty good!!...I just finished walking around the block!! First time in a long time. I think that was my New Years Resolution 2 years ago and I made it today. Maybe I'll break away from this computer long enough to go twice tomorrow. It's about a mile around.
Glad you like the CBC site.. Each individual artist paints one square and then we put them together for the whole painting. We usually work from a photo and divide up the photo and many times we paint together (in the same room). Cindy Campbell is going to be my big competitor in the running as she's already lost 15 lbs. (and 20 years younger) and she wasn't that large to begin with. I have a thyroid problem also so it will be slow going. Maybe if I add the food at CC it will work. I love being able to put in your food so easily. I have a nutritional count program called DineHealthy but I don't use it as it's time consuming to open the program, get it set up, etc.

As far as I know for every 2 pounds someone loses, a person with hypothyroidism will lose only half a pound!!

hi ns1029! i'm pretty new here, too (at least to the forums, just had the courage to start them last week), and am still trying to find my way around. what a great site, everyone is soooo supportive.

Hi, dagicat...I walked today..again and I plan to tomorrow after painting with by CBC friends. I am enjoying adding the food eaten and watching the Eat Meter..so cool. My grandson added it to my tool bar and it is so easy to add a food. Have you tried it? I haven't read much on the site yet..working on my art blogs.

i have tried the food logs, but put it down for now. i don't really have a game plan yet for a diet. i don't know how to cook (yet), which makes it sorta difficult. and i've never measured my food, so i have no idea how much food to actually log. (i know, so many excuses!) what i really need to do is come up with a 7 day menu plan, follow it, and log it. i'll try coming up with a menu this week. i've primarily been focusing on working out at the gym, but realize that's only half the battle.
keep walking, it sounds like something that's really good for you. if you miss a day or two, don't fret, but remember to keep going! walking is sooo healing, don't you think?
