Hi everyone!
Let me tell you a little about myself!
I'm a 22 year old female, married with a 2 year old boy.
Oh yeah, I'm 5'9" and 207lbs! I have a large fram and am big boned. No that's not an excuse. Wrap your hand around my wrist and you'll believe me.
I've always had a hard time with my weight, ever since I hit puberty. I was able to control it alot better back in high school. I was anywhere from 140-170. My senior year I was 150-160 and that's a good weight for me. At that weight I wore mostly size 12 jeans. I used to jog alot back then and did a few exercise videos like pilates and kickboxing.
Well ever since I was 18, I've just slowly been getting heavier. I was 185 when I got pregnant and went all the way up to 230 when I delivered. For almost a year after that I was stuck at 200-210. Then I lost some weight by starvation and I tried atkins for a while and got into the 180's. I stayed at that weight all the way until this last summer. Then I gained weight and am now stuck around 205. It's so depressing being a size 16-18. My hips, legs, butt, used to be my problem area, but ever since I had my baby and got a c-section I'm having a hard time with my stomach also.
And yes, I do have a hard time not over eating.
I need help with discipline, so I don't overeat!
Also I'm trying to get back into working out again. I've been doing pretty good this week. I'm doing this program that was in Shape magazine. Where, I've been running/walking on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday for about 30 minutes. Tuesday and Thursday, crosstrain, so I've been lifting some weights or doing other strengthening exercises. Then on Friday, speed walking 30 minutes. Things gradually get harder each week for 4 weeks.
Also I've done a few of FitTV's workouts, but the commercials drive me crazy!
So anyways, HI everyone! Any tips or anything would be greatly appreciated!
Oh yeah, how is it that you get your ticker into your profile???
Welcome to CC Melanie! It sounds like you're already off to a great start. I don't have too much advice on the exercise part since it seems you're already past my skills. Lol
As far as food, try using the food log here on CC or just write down everything you eat on a pad of paper to see what you really consume. We tend to underestimate our food portions often.
I would definitely start off by pinpointing what you seem to overeat and start working on finding replacements for them. For example, my weakness is chips. I love chips....tortilla, potato, all of them. I replaced my regular chip consumption with popcorn and sometimes pretzels. I still will indulge in chips once in a while but limit it to one or two servings (ounces).
I also don't recommend trying to replace everything at once. Pick one or two things and find acceptable replacements. Get that down pat and then work on the next thing to replace. Good luck!!!
Sometimes it's OK totext in a restaurant.
