Hi I'm new and 37 lbs too heavy! :) Plus a question!
Hi! So my name is Noa, I'm 16 and a rising senior...
I am also a ballet dancer and I'm training to become professional. I do need to lose weight, about 37 lbs of it, in order to be at my best weight. I'm not by any means fat but I do need to slim down a lot so I'm hoping this will help me -- I know it will!!
I am very active, I exercise almost every day and also dance almost every day.
I was logging in stuff in my activity log and there is something I don't understand. It says the following...
Burn Meter
Total Estimate: 2350 cal
1318 cal
So I guess 1318 cal is the number of calories I will have burned today when BMR and exercise is taken into consideration. That would make sense to me, as I logged in my walk from this morning and i burned appx. 250 cals from that, so 1318 is a reasonable number. Where it confuses me is the 2350 cal. The only explanation I can come up with is that this takes my activity level (medium) into consideration and so the approximate total number of calories that I should burn in a day is 1,100 (BMR) + 250 (exercise) + 1,000 (other things like typing on the computer and playing with my cats and sewing my costume...everyday type things).
Can someone verify this and tell me if I'm correct? Thanks!
And I'm reeeally looking forward to doing this!! :D
The burn meter works pretty much like you understand. The top number (smaller font) is what you should burn in a normal day without extra exercise. The big (larger font) number is what you have burned up currently. When you add additional activity, both numbers will rise accordingly. Good luck!
