Hi, losing after birth weight

Quote  |  Reply

Hello,

I'm new on CC, I looking to find a support buddy that we can motivate each other to stay on track in losing weight. Alittle bit about myself, my whole life has been about weight ups and downs, especailly after having kids (5,4 and 11 months)...My current weight is 203lbs and I'm 5'5. 11 months ago, I had my 3rd child and used pregnancy and nursing as my excuse to continue eating everything. I gained alot of weight and did not lose the baby weight. I'm currently still nursing but am ready to focus and take the extra weight off. My thoughts are for a healthier me, but my problem is I find myself always in the kitchen, either making meals, snacks or cleaning, and I tend to pick at whatever I find (it's bigger then me), and this is where I'm looking for a buddy so we can motivate each other. My goal is my pre-pregnacy weight of 140lbs, but at this time I am happy to lose 20lbs before July. I would love to hear from people and how or what got them started, and if they would like to support one another.

Hi...

I am new here too.  I have about 6 weeks left until my son is born.  I have gained 25 pounds this pregnancy but I gained 55 with my first son!  I started out heavier with this one....(163).  I started today by logging my food and I am hoping to stay on track for the remainder of my pregnancy so I can hit the ground running once I am able to.  I am having a C section so I know I will have a few weeks where I will not be able to exercise.  I can keep my food in check...hopefully.

If you have not found a buddy yet....I need one too!  My goal weight is 130 - 135.

Good luck to you!

Debbie

Hey there.  I feel the same way!  My goal weight is also 140 (which right now I feel will be a miracle!)  I am currenty 176.4 and still nursing.  The little guy was born December 2nd, and I am finally feeling that I am starting to be able to watch what I eat and get time (although little right now) to exercise.  This is my first, but I need to take control.  I’ve fluctuated with weight my whole life and want to be at least my goal before we have our 2nd.  I was 159 before getting pregnant this time (started slacking after the honeymoon!).  My lowest weight was at our wedding in 2007 when I was 147 and a size 6.  I can’t wait to get back there.  Both my parents are type 2 diabetics and heart patients and don’t want to take the same path.  It would be great to buddy up and keep each other motivated!

I feel terrible! I am 21, 5'6 and never ever had a problem with weight. i ate what i wanted and never even thought about real exercise. I ate for every reason. happy sad excited etc. never gained more than a pound or two, ate n slept. at my heaviest was 130 size 4/ 5. I get pregnant with my 1st and gain 75lbs to a crazy 205! After she was born (2/27/09) ii dropped 25 and im nursing.. im stuck at 180 i dont fit anything! i refuse to buy size 14 jeans. because ive never had to worry about this i dont know what to do. i have no support and the not eating at all thing isnt working for me.. lol i too need a buddy to motivate me. 40lbs is my goal..

Hey,

I feel the same way.  I was just starting to accept my body (157lbs and 5'6" tall) when I got pregnant.  I had a healthy pregnancy, but after my baby was born, my sense of what to eat went out the window.  I nursed for the first 9 mos (he just turned a year old last week) and was losing weight.  I got down to about 175lbs until I stopped nursing.  Now I've gained another 10lbs and I'm the heaviest I've ever been.  It's really frustrating and depressing to feel so big, but then I end up eating because of the frustration/depression.  I just joined CC about 10 days ago and I'm hoping to find some support to get through this.  I'm refusing to settle with being this weight! Yell  It feels good to know that I'm not alone.

Good luck!!!!

I am also new....just started CC yesterday.  I just gave birth to my first child in April.  He is just now 4.5 weeks. I'm trying to get in gear right away because I developed some bad habits over the last two years especially during my pregnancy.  I couldn't excercise much during my pregnancy due to extreme ligament and back pains.  I also started out heavier (due to bad food habits) when I found out I was pregnant (I think I was around 165)  My goal weight is 130 because that is what I always was and event though it seems impossible I know for my body it would be best.  the day I gave birth I weighed in at 219 and never felt so bad...used pregnancy as an excuse along with a big baby.  I am already down to 185 with out much effort.  I am hoping that by using CC I will be more aware of what I'm eating.  I am junk food addict!
