Hi...I Need Your Help!
Okay, so I did my weekly weigh-in, only to find out that I had only lost half a pound. Usually I lose at least one pound per week, so even though it's frustrating I'm grateful that I lost something.
What is confusing though is that even though I lost only half a pound, I've lost an inch around my waist this week. Before, the measure tape would never change no matter how much weight I had lost. Is this normal? What determines the change around my waist without actually losing a lot of weight?
Thanks for your help (hopefully!) <3

There are alot of reasons why your weight might not change the reason you expect. You're retaining water. You've added muscle. Whatever. Lots of reasons.
There's a point, especially when you get near a healthy weight, when you just stop losing WEIGHT quickly. I don't know why.. maybe your body's reaching a point of equilibrium. I'm not sure as I'm no professional.
But it sounds like you're still losing. An inch off your waist is nothing to cough at.
And yes, this type of behavior is normal. Your Weight is just the sum of all the bits inside of you.. not just how much fat you have.
All in all, it sounds like you're still in good shape, so don't worry about it. :)
I've never really tracked loss in measurements until about a month or two ago...and I've noticed that sometimes the scale is low, but nothing changes in measurements, and sometimes the measurements drop but the scale stays the same....
....there could be any number of reasons, just move on to the next time! haha The body composition could just be catching up, or like hkellick mentioned, retaining water, gained muscle...or you could have been slightly bloated when taking the measurements....if I do measurements soon after eating, they are a lot larger than if I'm in between meals!
Could be you're adding muscle while losing fat depending on what you are doing for routines. If the tape got smaller that's a good thing because it sounds like your getting fit.
Roger that miket. Your body will pull stored cals from wherever your body is built to store them. Some people stay skinny everywhere else but store excess cals in the abdomen. Some ladies lose inches in the chest when the lose weight, like my beloved.
Myself, I'm working out and have found that my pants are looser, my muscles are tighter, but that d*mn scale hasn't budged for the past week! Take a deeep breath and look long term. One of the worst things I had to learn was to ignore the scale and change my habits.
Good Luck,
