Good morning Lori,

Well, i am still 142.80, didn't change this week. But i couldn't eat my calorie limit this week. I don't know what is wrong with me, maybe that's the problem. I need to eat 1300 calories and maybe more.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's great that you reached your goal, Lori! I am still going to do what i am doing, but try to eat more. I am not sure if the trend of the weight is really important. You know, when you put your weight in, there is a trend that shows you how much really weight did you loose? Mime first time ever showed that my weight is really what scale says. Maybe next week it will move down again? Well, there is another week and i will try to do my best in eating. Isn't it funny.....  i can't eat enough, i can't believe it.

Leila I really thing you have to try to eat what cc says you should. If not your body holds on thinking you need what you ate. My best weeks were when I stayed right around what they say. I had a few weeks way under with no loss, and a few weeks when I had one really bad day, but most weeks I was right on. I lost when I was right on or had a bad day, but on the weeks I ate way to little I stayed the same. I hope that helps. The family reunion was a great time, I managed to have a canolli and cookie at the end and still be within my limit. Rain everyday last week so we thought yesterday would also by gloomy, but the sun was shining all day and it was 80 degrees. Couldn't have turned out better.

The trend line is the important one. Weight can fluctuate a great deal in a day because of fluids. The trend line shows you that you are actually going up or down. Once you stay at a weight for a couple of days then it is safe to say you are really that weight.

Hope you are having a great weekend. Alison's husband still has her computer, she has not quit on us. As soon as she can she will be back with us every day.

I know about Alison, she wrote me e-mail explaining that her husband has a problem with the computer. Hopefully she will be back soon.

You are probably right, i need to eat what they say on CC.  I should eat 1400  so i figured i will eat 1300-1350. What do you think? I just started eat  more last week. My trade line showed first time ever that  my actual weight, the one i see on scale is the same as on trend line. I was not sure but i thought that it's good. It means that i am still going down, but maybe i just need to eat more. Yesterday we went to the movies and ate 100 calories more my limit. I didn't do it on purpose,it just happened. I was upset at first, but then i remembered what you said , that you ate over your limit couple times and it didn't hurt. So i thought that maybe it's good for my body, to have a little " stress". We will see what  next Friday will show.

Sorry to take so long to reply Leila, I've been busy getting dorm shopping done for my son. Girls enjoy the shopping for their dorm, but boys don't even want to go. Every time I ask him what color this or that, he says I don't care mom what's the difference.

As long as the trend line is going down you are doing something right. If they are both the same now, that is good, you really weigh what you think you do. Scale weight is some times just extra fluid.

I am leaving for the gym, wow that sounds funny from me I know. Then I'm going to finish getting my son's things. I'm not coming home until I am done, or I'll never get it done. I'm not even coming home in between to shower. It is raining so I don't think anyone will even notice.

I don't know if reaching my goal was a good or a bad thing, now I want to eat everything. I believe to stay the same weight I can eat 1400 calories, to lose it was 1200. As long as I don't gain I will be very happy.

Hi Lori,

I am so glad to hear that, that i am doing something right. This trend line shows the same weight as scale does, 142.80. Now i am eating 1300-1350 , at least trying to be as close as possible. I hope it will start working, but on the back of my mind i am afraid that i will start gaining weight eating so much. I am going to the gym today after work.

Sounds like you are really busy with shopping for your son. I can imagine he doesn't care about  all this. My husband really doesn't care much about the colors and stuff that really is important for us,girls Smile So i guess boys don't change a lot.  It is cooling down here and it is great, comfortable weather.

Leila I really think you will see a loss, when you eat the right amount. I know it sounds crazy, you would think the less you eat the more you loss. If you are not getting enough your body holds on to what it has. Trend line is showing that you are really down to that weight, thats great.

I got most of college shopping done, thank God that is out of the way. We still have to go get the books, which will cost 800-1000 dollars UGH! And of course now he needs a lap top, which his sister wants to pay half for, for a going to college gift. I can't believe my baby is off to college, where do all the years go?

It has cooled off here as well, but we have been getting a lot of rain.

My daughter is coming over with the boys, so I better get dinner started. I will talk to you soon.

Thank you for your support, Lori.  You are right, i still have this crazy thinking from old times that less you eat, more you loose. Unfortunately not. So,  i know i need to eat more and i am trying. It took my some time to re-think my day in calories. Because yesterday i had 300 calories left after dinner and  i was snacking all evening to get closer to my limit.

Time is flying by so quickly. I am asking myself the same question often, where did the time go??? Oh well.....  I am sure you are excited and afraid for your son, there is whole new period of his life. That is great that his sister helps him, it costs a lot to get ready for college.

It will be cooling down all this week and next too. I can't wait when it will be really  cool.

THIS IS A LIFE STYLE! I really have to remember that this was not a diet. Once I reached my goal, I slacked off a little bit. Wow that was a big mistake, I gained back more than a pound in less than a week. Again I am not to my goal and have to hold my head up and get back there. I can't believe how hard it is to get it off, but easy to put it back on.

I'm not happy about this and it worries me, how am I going to do this the rest of my life. I couldn't even keep it off for a week, once I reached my goal. I like the way I feel and look so much better, but this isn't going to be easy. Forever might be a long time, and thats how long I will have to count calories.

Sorry to sound so negative, but this was a slap of reality in my face.    O.k. so I have to get dressed and go to the gym and burn some of this off.  So many weeks I didn't loss, but now that I finally reached my goal on a Friday I will have to report a gain, that really hurts. I hope that my goal will be reached again by the following Friday weigh in.

Leila I would be so much better off if I was like you. I could eat the 300 calories at the end of the day so easy. Strange that the one that needs to cant and the one that has no calories left could so easily. Like you always tell me today is a new day, I will have to work really hard at getting back to my goal and then even harder to stay there. Enjoy the cooler weather and walk a lot. We are getting the hot weather back starting tomorrow, for the next 5 days at least.

Yes, this is a life style, i agree with you , Lori. I realized that from the beginning and  that really helped me. I set my mind that i can't go back to the way i ate before not in a week or a month. I will need to count calories forever. I know how you feel now, you mad at yourself that you let yourself relax and forget about calories. But maybe you needed it.  Don't think how are you going to do it for the rest of your life. Take it one day at a time, Lori. And as you know there is always another day. I am sure that you are back on the track today and you will lose what you gained. And then you have your goal to reach. You know, the road that we are taking is very bumpy and everything can happen. But we should give ourselves a credit that we are trying to loose weight, to change our life style.  That's what i am thinking all the time, that it is so easy to put weight on, but it takes so much to lose it.

I have a problem with eating my calorie limit, but i am trying to re-think my day in calories. I worry that if i will start eating more, i will gain weight, it scares me. But as you said, to lose - i need to eat more.  Yesterday i didn't go to the gym because my husband's cousin came for a visit from Texas and we went to his parent's house for dinner. So, hopefully i will go today, really want to.  

One more thing. I have read and heard from different people that it is not so difficult to lose weight, as to maintain it. Now you know it on your  own experience and maybe that will  help you in the future.

Once again eating like a pig for a day helped me. I thought I gained back over a pound, well I did but then my body decided to get rid of it before weigh in today. I am less than my goal weight and very happy. On Tuesday I was a pound over and thought I was heading in the wrong direction. So all is good here, for now.

Leila how did you do? Were you happy when you got on the scale today? I hope it went well, let us know.

Off to food shopping now, time to stock up on fruits and veggies.

Well, i didn't loose anything again, my trend line shows the same number as my scale. So probably i did something right, but i still i didn't loose anything. I am confused. I will eat the same amount of calories and then maybe next week it will start showing different number. I will need to go to the gym more often, this week i have been there only once. It's not because i didn't want to, because i couldn't. Well, but  i really need to change this somehow. I am really glad for you, Lori. That's great!

Leila that isn't making any sense. If you have been having a deficit everyday, you should be losing something. With a deficit of 500 a day you would lose a pound a week, if your deficit is less than that, you should still loss something.

What is your calorie limit per day?

How many calories are you eating a day?

How many days are you exercising?

We will figure this out together, and get you losing soon.

Thank you that you want to help me. But i was thinking and trying to  figure this out and couldn't. The only thing i can think of it's this plateau.

I should eat 1350 a day, but i eat mostly 1265 per day, lately i was trying to eat more and could eat 1300 for day or two.  Usually i go to the gym twice, three times a week. This week i went only once, but i was walking during my lunch for an hour couple days a week. Sometimes i am so busy that it's hard to find time to eat at lunch.

Leila what is the top number on your burn meter, before you eat anything for the day or exercise? Is that number larger than what you are eating in a day? That number should always be higher than calorie intake for the day. Lets start there and make sure that is right. Let me know and we will work from that o.k.? We have to figure this out before you get discouraged. Tomorrow morning go on and see the TOP number on the burn meter.  Talk to you soon.

My  burn meter is always larger than the  amount of the calories i eat during the day. Now for example my calories are 1230 and my burn meter is 1830 and it is  10.30 at night. I am not going to eat any more today. I will  look tomorrow morning but  i know for sure that  burn meter number is larger.

Something is wrong then if your burn meter is always higher and you are not losing. That makes your deficit around 600 calories, so if you have that every day you should lose. Are you sure you are adding every calorie that goes in? Do you add everything you drink and little things you pick on? There is a problem somewhere, you have to check everything carefully. 600 times 7 days is a deficit of 4200 a week, that should be a loss of over a pound every week. That isn't even counting any exercise, that would be even more. Are you sure that you but in the right weight when you started and that the calorie amount matches what you should be eating. I think it is great that you are not gaining, but I also feel that you should be seeing the numbers go down.

Went out to dinner tonight that was a big mistake. I had 700 calories left to use for dinner, which is very easy to do. I decided to make bad decisions, I had fried oysters, fried haddock and broccoli. Then we stayed out until almost midnight, so I also had three mixed drinks. My limit is 1200 and I had 1702, that is a big boo-boo ouch! I will count this as my one bad day and see if the same thing happens as before. I really think overeating one day kicks my body into gear. I have a whole week to correct it before weigh in, so I should be fine.

Hi Lori,

Well, i don't know what is going on. I put everything i eat and drink, all dressings and sauces, tea, coffee. You know i lost 5 pounds easy, it was one pound lost every week, then something happened and i just stopped loosing. Maybe i need to eat the same amount of calories i ate then. It was 1200 to 1300, more 1230 - 1260 a day. And i am sure i need to exercise more, maybe that's the thing. I started with the weight what i put on CC website for sure. If you remember i has a problem in the beginning, because i put wrong activity level and i had to eat 1700. It was too much for me and i didn't loose anything of course. Then i changed the level and started to loose. I was thinking yesterday and it seems to me that i should eat 1200 - 1300 calories, no more then that. It doesn't feel right when i try to eat more. We will see.

I went to the gym this morning, was on Nordic trail running for 45 minutes. Unfortunately couldn't stay longer, we go for lunch to my husband's parents. So we need to leave soon. Today is not so hot, cool with nice breeze.

It was just one day and then it helps your body to loose weight if you overeat. You will be fine, Lori.

Hey Leila how is your week going? I had a nice weekend, so I had to give up a beautiful day yesterday. The weather was perfect, and I stayed in washing curtains and windows. I do house cleaning best when I am home alone, so I took advantage of my time. My kitchen is so spotless, you could eat off the floor (washed on my hands and knees). I didn't go to the gym, but believe me I got a work out, my shoulders and back are killing me now, ouch!

 My mom lives in Port Charlotte Fla, the big storms are going to hit there today, so I'm a little worried. A few years ago during hurricane Charlie my moms house got $150,000 worth of damage, roof was torn off. I know this storm isn't going to be as bad, but I still worry.

How was your weekend? I hope you had a good one. Have you heard from Alison any more, I haven't. I hope she is doing well. I'm trying to decide if I should go to the gym and work through the aches and pains or take a book and go read in the sun. I can't believe how much I hurt, it was like a good spring cleaning, only that it was summer. I think I will probable end up going to the gym for a short time, then enjoy the sun for awhile.

Hi Lori,

Well, i had really busy week-end. On Saturday we had lunch with my husband's cousin and the rest of the day we were shopping. You know there are couple stores here in Maryland are closing, for example Boscov's. I don't know if you have this one where you live. But they had a big sale on Saturday because they close stores in Maryland. Then jewelry store Whitehall going out of business too. So, on Sunday i was cleaning too. It was just like a workout Smile, so i know what you mean when you say that  your back hurts. I didn't go to the gym yesterday, had stuff to do at home again. It's getting cooler and  i need to take all fall clothes out. Hope will be able to go today.  It's going o.k. i decided to go back to my calories that i ate when i was loosing weight. We will see what will happen.

I have heard about the hurricane, that looks really scary. They have a lot of rain and wind, hopefully it won't be as bad as it was last time. I really hope your mom will be all right.

I never heard of Boscov's up here. I love going to going out of business sales, did you find anything good?

Much cooler here as well, I think today is only going to reach 70 degrees for a high. I will make it to the gym later this morning, but I must be honest I don't feel like going. I don't know what it is but I have lost interest in going at all. I will continue to go but I don't understand, I looked forward to it before.

I have to get the fall clothes out soon too, that will be an all day thing so maybe next week.

My mom was lucky they got lots of wind, but no damage this time around. I guess the storm is going back on land again today, but much further north than she is.
