Hi everybody,

I lost 1 pound this week and  i am really happy about this. Slowly but it is working for me. Well, now i know it is worth it, all the things that i can't eat at the same time. I know how you felt, Lori, yesterday, i wanted to eat everything and to forget about the calories. But then i thought that i  can't do that, i want to loose weight. I was under my calories after dinner so i could have my favourite British candy, i could eat just 4 small pieces, 150 calories, but i enjoyed them so much. Sometimes it is difficult, but you know, everybody has their own little victories everyday. I couldn't go to the gym yesterday, had a horrible headache. So i am planning to go tomorrow morning, Saturday, and really going to sweat.

Can't wait to hear how you did,  girls!

Good job Leila on the pound. I wish I could say the same, but for me the week didn't go as well. I did lose but only .40 of a pound, not even a half pound. Like I said before, I rather lose a small amount than gain. I want to lose 5 more pounds and then keep it off, last 5 do not want to come off.

Really strange thing:   I ate very bad things yesterday, sausage, chicken wings with skin and potato salad. (Also ate good calories watermelon and fresh veggies) I had so much energy after eating fat. I swear my body was thanking me for it lol

Maybe it is true that you should have a day once in a while when you give your body anything it wants. Maybe we need a certain amount of BAD fats every now and then. I know it sounds crazy, but thats my thought and I'm sticking to it. Even though I ate the wrong things, I did stay under my limit.

Planned on gym early this morning, but have decided to put it off until later today. I want to get laundry out of the way before the weekend. I'm going to bike week in Laconia N.H. for the weekend, so I want be around for the weekend, talk to you girls on Monday. Have a safe, fun and healthy weekend everybody.

 

Good job,Lori! I think it's great if you stay at the same weight or loose even just a little. And i agree with you that it's better to loose slowly. Everybody says that it's healthier. The way i felt yesterday about food, i believe you are right, maybe i just needed to have a little more sugar and fat. I felt really good after i ate my candy Embarassed But i was in my calorie limit anyway. Isn't this amazing, we can eat "wrong" food and it's o.k. as far as we stay in our calorie limit. I still can't really believe that.

Hi everyone - I'm off to Mackenzie's swim class so I only have a second, but I lost a pound, too!  Down to 127, which is a big deal because it's how much I weighed when I got pregnant!  More later, but I'm so proud of us!

Hi girls- I didn't do so great on Saturday - I had a sitter but had to run a thousand errands.  How can there be so many errands?  I got stuck shopping and was very hungry - the only place to eat anything was a starbucks, so I got the only lowfat item there; a rasberry coffee cake.  I felt so guilty, but I was starving!  And can I tell you? It was DELICIOUS!  But I guess that's the point of all this, right?  You can go off your program occasionally and it will be ok.  I didn't even have time to log yesterday, but I felt good this morning (Sunday) and have started the day off with 2 poached eggs and some melon.  Lori, you've inspired me with the poached eggs, I have them all the time now. 

My biggest problem is still getting to the gym - some of this is because of my child's schedule camp and survival swim at 1 in the afternoon (so hot).  But that's just for one more week and then things will calm down. 

Can't wait to hear how your weekends went!

Hi everybody,

My week-end was very busy, didn't have time to go to the gym today, on Sunday. But i went on Saturday morning and had 45 minutes on the bicycle.I was running errands all day and in the evening we were invited for dinner to our friends. Well, everything was healthy and tasty, we had grilled chicken and a lot of vegetables, grille corn, vegetable salad. We had watermelon for dessert. After dinner my girlfriend and i went for a walk with her baby. So it was good exercise!!! Sunday was busy too, went shopping and did the laundry. I did good yesterday, was in my calories, but today it is so hot again that neither my husband nor me are hungry after lunch. It is 7.19 and we probably not going to eat dinner. We will have watermelon or fruit or some snacks. I just ate 874 today ,so i  can have my frozen yogurt i didn't have for a week or so. I am going to the gym tomorrow after work.

It's so funny!  I think we all love watermelon!  We eat it all the time,here, too.  Ok - time for bed - sounds like you did terrific this weekend Leila!

Yes, i love watermelon Smile,i can eat it all day long. I did pretty good on the week-end. I  an going to go to the gym today after work to sweat on the elliptical machine. It is  a little cooler today, but weather forecast promises in 90s again in the middle of the week.

Good job girls, looks like I am the only one that went WAY off track this weekend. I had an amazing fun filled weekend in Laconia NH for bike week. CC wasn't part of my life the last two days I ate and ate, had fried seafood platter and a pulled pork sandwich. So imagine eating like that and no exercise all weekend, I was in heaven. Maybe I had a bad attitude, but I decided I was going to eat whatever I wanted and as much as I wanted.

I made sure to start of this week right, so I hope my body will decide to be on my side and forgive me (I think it thanked me for the  fried seafood lol).

It seems that I have lost all that I can, I lost about a pound  a week when I started on May 4th, but last couple of weeks Weight hasn't changed much. I guess maybe it could be that I have been going to the gym way less, went from 5-6 times a week, down to 2-3. I'm going to start hitting it hard again and see if I can drop these last 5 pounds.

I am also a watermelon love, really enjoy it on a hot sticky day.

Are we all going to weigh in on Friday this week?

Sounds like you really enjoyed your week-end, Lori Wink The most important thing that you  liked it and felt great. Maybe once in a while we all need something like that. Well, but you are back on track today, that's good.  I have heard that the last pounds are difficult, maybe going to the gym more often will help to speed up the process.

We are going to weigh in on Friday, sure.

Hi - Lori I'm so jealous!  Fried Seafood?  YUM!  but you deserve it - you've done so great, and I bet your body really wanted the food! 

Do you guys have something in mind that you're going to do for yourself once you've hit your goal weights? New clothes? Dinner out at your favorite place? 

I'm having such a hard time getting to the gym!  Mackenzie has her swim class there and it feels like I'm living there already - we swim in the "fun pool" after her class as a reward (it's survival swim, so she hates it), so I'm there for 3+ hours if I work out, too.  Well - I guess if I want to lose, I just have to make myself go.  Gosh, I sound so complainy! Surprised How many people would kill to have the problems I have?  I take it all back!

I was thinking about this day when i will reach my goal. I will  buy new clothes for sure Smile

I just came home from gym, i am so tired. I spend 30  minutes on elliptical machine, i couldn't do more, because i was sweating. It is so hot outside again and it was really hot in the gym. They had just one fan working. So i was dying, but i really glad that i did this 30 minutes, although it is not much.

I am going to eat something and have my frozen yogurt for dessert.

Alison I think my body really did need the fried seafood lol  Well I know they say when you are trying to lose weight you should never reward yourself with food, but I really love food. I really don't know what I will do for myself when I reach my goal, it seems like I will never get there. I might go all out and buy myself a bathing suit and visit my mom in FLA. I'm over due for a visit and it would be a great reward. What are you planning for yourself when you hit your goal? By the way if you are swimming every time you take Mackenzie to swim class, that is great. Swimming is the best exercise you can get, it uses every muscle in the body.

Leila I cant believe that you think 30 minutes is a short time on that thing. That would kill me for the rest of the day. Give yourself credit, that is a great workout. So you have decided new clothes is what you want when you reach your goal, that sounds like a good idea.

Swimming is great, i agree. I wish i would have a chance to swim in the pool. It's great exercise, Alison. Many years ago i had couple classes of water aerobics, wow, that was great.

Well, I wanted to stay longer on elliptical yesterday, but thank you, Lori. I can feel it today on my legs, they are shaking Smile I am going to take a break with gym today and will go again tomorrow.

Hey girls,

I know we are on here to support each other and be positive, but I have a question about something negative.

I was wondering if you girls ever go through what I am going through now. When I started at the gym I looked forward to going and couldn't wait to get there. Now it seems like a chore and seems like it takes up to much time. I know I need it and once I get there I am fine, but I have to force myself to go now. Before If I had to miss a day, it made me unhappy, now I find excuses not to go.

Sorry to be such a downer, but I wanted to know if I am alone in feeling this way. Maybe it is because I have reached a point, where I am not seeing anymore weight loss. I don't know, but I hate feeling like this.

I went to the gym this morning and I am glad I did, but I had to talk myself into it. Anyone else feeling this way, or have you? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Lori: I go through that, too!  For awhile, I'm completely addicted to the gym, and then it's like torture.  I have a couple of theories: 

1)  The gym is hard work!  By it's very nature it's an effort, and if you're already tired, it's hard to convince yourself that expending energy is going to make you more energetic in the long run. 

2)  This might just apply to me:  Being the best you can be is a little scary - to actually reach the goal you've been thinking about for a long time.  What comes after that?  Will you be able to maintain it?  Who will you be when you're not worrying about your weight anymore?  Sometimes we sabatoge our own efforts in subtle ways to that we can stay on familiar ground. 

For me it's almost like I'm 2 people:  The one who knows what's good for me and wants to be my best possible self, and the one who undermines everything I've done.  The question is:  Who's going to win...?  That's my dimestore psychology... what do you think?

 

Alison I like your psychology, I have to make the good me win. I guess I have to start going to the gym first thing in the morning again, that way I won't feel like it takes up the whole day. The later it gets in the day the more time I have to talk myself out of it. If I get up and go right a way and get back home by 9:00, I still feel like I have the whole day to get things done. Thanks for your bit of psychology, I needed it.

I feel the same way. Sometimes i need to force myself to go or when we go together with my husband he forces me to go. It is so hard some days, but i am really glad that i  did go after all.  You don't go to work like i do every day,girls, and i would love to be able to go in the morning. I agree, go in the morning and you are done with it. Other thing when you come home from work, change and then go to the gym. It's getting pretty much like a job, i tell myself that i have go to, have to burn calories. So, Lori, don't worry, you are not the only one who feels this way.

Where is everybody? I  did good today, on the leftover calories i had watermelon. I was in by calorie range. I also went to the gym and this time spend 45 minutes on stationary bicycle. Was really busy today at work, but had my usual walk. In the park near my office there is a lunch concerts every day. It's a small jazz band and singer. Well, i hope you are all right, girls.
