Hi! My name is Jodi...I am new to carlorie count and was wondering if anyone would like to join me in challenging yourself to lose up to 10 pounds in the month of June.

Healthy weight loss is 2-3 pounds per week so I chose the median number of 10. Even if you manage to lose 1-9 pounds that is GREAT!!!!!. It's always nice to share our triumps and challenges over the course of one month. And as a new member it is also a nice way to meet new buddies.

If you are interested just reply to my post and we can all record our starting weights on June 1st and our ending weight on June 30th. All are welcome whether you are a new member or an exsisting member.

I will be here everyday to lend my support...so lets all get together and suppport one another for a sucessfull June weight loss challenge!!!!!

WOW!!! So many grand accomplishments already....there is only five days until the weigh in. So what I will be doing is posting everyones start weight here on June 2nd before midnight so that gives everyone a chance to give me there weight and on Monday of every week until the 30th we can have a weigh in and I will keep the post updated. All those that are interested just send me a message in my inbox of your start weight and keep me updated until the end. Not too sure if you have to add me as a friend or not to send me a message, if so please do and I shall accept.

Hi Jodi!

I'll join you in losing the lbs.  I am aiming for 5-8 lbs but if I lose 10lbs that would be cool too.  I think having as much support as possible will help accountability.

I am tracking calories and I work out about 4-5 days per week. What are you currently doing in order to reach your goal?

Hmm let me see what am I doing to lose the weight. Well I started eating really healthy 2 salads a day with just a little light olive oil and balsamic vinger. I marinate salmon with garlic and pesto and add that to the salad and also chicken marinated in rosemary and of course my garlic. At least I know that I getting a good dose of Vitamin C with all the garlic I eat and I haven't had any vampires at my neck including my boyfriend lol. For snacks I have organic popcorn and nutrigrain bars. I am drinking a lot of water now. I actually bought 3 cases of 24 bottled water because Walmart had a sale and I find I drink more because it's bottled enough though I have a culligan system????

I started my Turbo Jam and Hip-Hop abs again which is sooo much fun and the time just flies by. I used to be able to do the entire dvd, but I am just starting back so I have to build up my stamina. Yesterday I went on Ebay and bought Tony Horton's 10 minute trainer and am waiting for that to arrive. I also bought a pedometer so I can start walking more with the nicer weather coming.

What are you all doing to get started?????

Im IN! Im IN!. I have gained so much of weight during my pregnancy. I lost about 15lbs in a year. Now I have to loose another 30lbs :(...I need motivation...

I tried so my times but I fail bcuz of lonelyness. I feel I am the only Fat Women in my family....It hurts when my husband's family tease me.. I dont know what to do...

But now I think this 10lbs is a good strat...Plz be with me...

I'm in! I've never done a challenge on this site so this should be a nice challenge! 10 lbs...I need it!

To do this I am going to keep going to the gym and really concentrate on eating what I know I should eat! I have a big problem with getting off track and staying off track for a few days which sets me back of course! So for the month of June I am going to really focus on eating healthy and sticking around 1500 calories.

I know what it's like to get teased by family. I just went to a birthday party and ran into people I haven't seen in 2 years since I lost 82 lbs and now I have gained back 50lbs. My aunt says "Wow what happened to you" you were so slim and beautiful. Hey I am still the same person. I understand how upseting it is. I would just tell your family to mind their business and that you are in the process of losing weight not for them, but for yourself. I always worried about my looks and tried to hide from family and friends because of all the comments. Now I just tell them to stuff it..lol. We all have inner beauty as well..people are way to hung up on outter beauty. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! just remember that:)

I do!  I do! Actually need to lose about 15, but 10 would certainly be a good start.

I'm in too!  I started out about 3 weeks ago at 148 and am down to about 141 now.  I think most of that was water so I'm prepared for the weight loss to start slowing down soon.  I'd love to lose about 8 lbs in the month of June before going to Florida for my brother's wedding on the 27th.  My ultimate goal is 115-120, so by the end of June I'd like to be at like 132.  But I'll take anything under 135!

I've been exercising on and off for a while and trying to get a deficit of about 700 a day.  Mostly I run and do the Jillial Michaels 30 Day Shred dvd.

Really excited about this challenge.  Let's do it!

Count me in too! I could use the accountability of a challenge. My goal is to lose 5 pounds in June, but more would be great. I'm getting married at the end of August, and would love to be down to 125-130 by then (current weight is fluctuating between 137-140 lately). But with summer, we've had a ton of guests from out of town, always eating out, going to the pub, etc, it's been hard to stay to my calories intake goal!

Right now, my goal is to watch my cals (trying for 1400/day), jogging/walking 3-4x a week, and I want to get a better exercise dvd--I have a pilates one, but am sick of it.

Any suggestions for a good workout dvd that doesn't require a ball/weights--anything but a mat?

Myself and a couple of other members are engaged in a 10 lb goal from May 19th to June 22nd but I have 70 lbs to lose so I'll participate with you as well.  My current strategy is eating plain yogurt with pineapples and granola for breakfast and then I eat Lean Cuisines and salads throughout the day.  My plan is to stay out of the kitchen as much as possible.  I also have a light balsamic vinegarette with my salads and read this morning that a tbsp of apple cider vinegar might also be beneficial to add so I might incorporate that as well.  I also treat myself to a weight watchers dessert of some type each evening.  Those are generally about 100 calories or so and it keeps the sweet urge away. 

My original plan was to work up to 90 minutes per day of exercise but I did 60 the first day, 70 the second day, 60 the 3rd day and then nothing for the next four days except various chores around the house so I am working on a new strategy for the exercise.

im in! last time i weighed in i was 148 and my goal weight is 140, but this past weekend (memorial day- beers and hamburgers) i definitely gained and havent gotten back on track yet. a challenge is exactly what i need to keep my motivation up and remind myself of why im doing this. i am hoping to be 140 lbs by june 25 :o)

I'm definitely in! I'm hovering around 150. I'm 5'10", so that's really not a bad weight, but I've always been around 130 and 150 just feels "big" for my body. I really want to tone and lose about 10 pounds, so this should be a great motivator for me!

I'm one of those people who forget to eat. I was averaging about 400 calories a day. My body was probably in starvation mode. I'm really working to actually eat during the day. It's been a struggle, but I've done it for a week now, and I'm determined to keep it up! I'm also working out 6 days a week until I reach my goal and then I'm backing down a bit.

Anyway - I'm excited to see where we all end up. This will be awesome! :)

Count me in.  I am a lot bigger than most of you, but I need motivation and hopefully this will give me the boost I need to get started and losing 10 pounds would be wonderful!

My big thing is getting active rather than sitting around and watching tv.  I also have a tough time with dinner time until bed time.  I can be good all day until then.  Yesterday was my first day of actually being good.  I also need to step up my water.  I am on my third bottle so far today.

Count me in too. I hadn't set mini-goals yet, so this is great. I am 163 as of this morning, so I'd like to get down to 160 by June 1 so my lose-ten-pounds goal is an even 150. 

I'm IN! I've been dabbling with CC since 2006 and never really invested myself within the community and the result is I haven't lost any weight either. DUH! So count me in, in, in!!

Ok, I'm in! I've never been part of a challenge, but I only have 11 lbs. to go to reach my goal so if I can do 10 this month that would be great!

I was 146.6 this morning and I'm so excited because I finally broke 147.  I was stuck there for a month and I hope this means I'm out of my plateau.

I have to get my wedding dress altered at the end of June and I want to already be at my ideal weight of 135 so that it fits me right when I get married in September. 

I've been losing weight slowly - 8 1/2 lbs. since whenever I started (Jan? Feb?) but I'm ready to get more serious and get these last 10 lbs. out of the way.

I've been lifting weight 3 days a week and doing cardio 3-4 days a week.  I'd like to increase my cardio a little more.  And I've been eating healthier, but I still need to get better.

Jodi, I am in too.  I am Vievien out of Santa Barbara California.  I weight 130 and don't mind losing 10 lbs to 120.  Recently, I started to count my calories and have taken up roller skating in the evening.  I also do horse back riding and walking to help me get to my goal.

Yeah!!  Let do it!!
