Hi! Who wants to join me in a NEW!!! June challenge of losing 10 pounds :)
Hi! My name is Jodi...I am new to carlorie count and was wondering if anyone would like to join me in challenging yourself to lose up to 10 pounds in the month of June.
Healthy weight loss is 2-3 pounds per week so I chose the median number of 10. Even if you manage to lose 1-9 pounds that is GREAT!!!!!. It's always nice to share our triumps and challenges over the course of one month. And as a new member it is also a nice way to meet new buddies.
If you are interested just reply to my post and we can all record our starting weights on June 1st and our ending weight on June 30th. All are welcome whether you are a new member or an exsisting member.
I will be here everyday to lend my support...so lets all get together and suppport one another for a sucessfull June weight loss challenge!!!!!

WOW!!! So many grand accomplishments already....there is only five days until the weigh in. So what I will be doing is posting everyones start weight here on June 2nd before midnight so that gives everyone a chance to give me there weight and on Monday of every week until the 30th we can have a weigh in and I will keep the post updated. All those that are interested just send me a message in my inbox of your start weight and keep me updated until the end. Not too sure if you have to add me as a friend or not to send me a message, if so please do and I shall accept.

I recently started buying the Dole frozen mixed fruit. It doesn't go bad, it satisfies my sweet tooth, and if you don't thaw it out ahead of time (I'm not a planner) it takes you awhile to eat. I like pineapples and strawberries better than chocolate anyway.
I'd like to participate. This will be great and sooo motivating to have others join me in my marathon weight loss!

"Don't shop on an empty stomach" Oh my Gosh that is some real good advice. I always overshop and buy bad things when i shop hungry. I always end up scarfing down the sample food as well, good thing they have a limit! I am not much of an eater, I don't crave sweets much, but i am a carb addict for sure. When i get hungry it's NOT gradual, it's like a freight train and then a train wreck! I get super hungry, dizzy and all in a very short amount of time. I realized I was eating way too many carbs in big amounts and too much time inbetween meals. I am doing so much better with smaller frequent meals and less carbs. I still love my carbs and my carb count daily is higher than anything else, but i have some control of it now =) I hope that it will help me acheive my goal! Yay!

I will be fully recovered from surgery and starting my exercise regimen June 1st, so this is a great opportunity to make my first month a success!!!
Yes, I would love to join this challenge! I am in one other challenge that is focused on a longer time frame and this is just what I need to make sure and stay on track. I am doing pretty good on the calorie counting and just need to find more time to do more exercising but have to be careful with my hip that I am working on getting back in line. I do best if I can get in the swimming pool to work out, it doesn't hurt my hip as bad.
I will be gone one week in the middle of June to chaperone the kids at summer camp but will do my best to stay on track and report in weekly.

I hope it's not to late to join this challenge. I have never joined a challenge before but it looks like fun! I'm not sure I will lose 10 pounds in June, I would be happy with 5. Currently I'm 171 pounds and would like to be 22 pounds by September.

Things we can start doing to help with the weightloss:
- Drink plenty of water
- Eat smaller more frequent meals
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator
- Make a list with your pre-planned meals for the week before grocery shopping
- Don't shop on an empty stomach
- Ask your friends and family for support

Use the handy food log here and keep track of your calories always go with the amount that is appropriate for your weight range..there are lots of sites to help online just type what should my calories be for my weight in google. **Remember if you don't get at least the lowest recommended for your weight range, your body might think it is straving and start storing the fat and burning muscle. And you don't want that.

Hahaha... I am a stay at home Mom and two of my kids are in school and my son he is good at keeping himself entertained with his toys. I try and get all my stuff done and sit on the computer to keep my fingers busy and that way I don't snack. So far so good :)

I'd love to sign up also. The accountability will definitely help.
My plan is to do 30 minutes cross-trainer every day, 30 minutes random FUN exercise (even jumping on the trampoline, or just a walk to a nice place) every day, and a long bike- ride on Sunday mornings. And of course cut out the booze and the sugar and keep under 1650 calories.
Simples.

Hi! Everyone....THREE MORE DAYS!!!! are you getting EXCITED!!!!
How about we add some tips on how to Lose Weight the Smart way...
1. First you really should go and see your doctor and make sure that losing weight is good for you at this time and ask his/her advice about any health concerns you may have.
2. Write down everything you eat and drink for a week. Review your food journal at the end of the week or use the handy food log tool here at calorie count. Notice how much you eat in each food group, how much sugar you consume and how much water you drink.
3. Plan a week's menu before you go to the store. Plan three well-balanced meals a day that include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, low fat dairy, lean meat and whole wheat grains.
4. Replace your sugary drinks with unsweetened tea, low fat milk and water. Drink 8 8-ounce glasses of water a day and drink a cup of low fat milk with every meal.
5. Begin an exercise routine. Start with a 10-minute walk every day. Increase the duration until you are walking an hour at least 6 days a week. Add 20-minute strength training sessions 2 to 3 days a week.
6. Cut back on sweets until you can eliminate them from your diet. Look for sugar and sugar substitutes like fructose, sucrose and honey on food labels. Avoid foods that have any type of sugar listed in the first four ingredients
**Remember these are all just suggestions to help us get started...and all suggestions are welcome. So lets all look out for one another and keep motivated....

I last weighed in at 163 and according to my height and build I should be aiming for between 115 and 125. Say about 43 lbs total.

Thanks for starting this, Jodi. It's just in time! I keep bouncing around in my last 10 lbs and it's about time I get to my goal and actually MAINTAIN it.
Right now I'm just under 135 -- and 125 is my goal (I'm 5'1").
