Hi! My name is Jodi...I am new to carlorie count and was wondering if anyone would like to join me in challenging yourself to lose up to 10 pounds in the month of June.

Healthy weight loss is 2-3 pounds per week so I chose the median number of 10. Even if you manage to lose 1-9 pounds that is GREAT!!!!!. It's always nice to share our triumps and challenges over the course of one month. And as a new member it is also a nice way to meet new buddies.

If you are interested just reply to my post and we can all record our starting weights on June 1st and our ending weight on June 30th. All are welcome whether you are a new member or an exsisting member.

I will be here everyday to lend my support...so lets all get together and suppport one another for a sucessfull June weight loss challenge!!!!!

WOW!!! So many grand accomplishments already....there is only five days until the weigh in. So what I will be doing is posting everyones start weight here on June 2nd before midnight so that gives everyone a chance to give me there weight and on Monday of every week until the 30th we can have a weigh in and I will keep the post updated. All those that are interested just send me a message in my inbox of your start weight and keep me updated until the end. Not too sure if you have to add me as a friend or not to send me a message, if so please do and I shall accept.

Hi Jodie,

Hope your group challenge is still open. I've been trying to find a group for support to start this month. I'm 20 years old, 5'5, and today I weigh 154 pounds. I have accumulated around 28 pounds over the last 6 months after going through quite a stressful time and now am determined to lose it again!! My ultimate goal is to lose around 30 lbs but I would love to lose 10 of them by the end of this month.

I have cut my calories right down, am running 3 times a week and also frequently working out to a dance workout video AND using the wii fit! I only started a week a go so this group would be perfect for me!

I find it very difficult to lose weight no matter what I do, so hopefully can get a bit of support from everyone here!

YAY!  I hope everyone is starting their first day off right with a healthy breakfast!

That's another tip we need to add to the list - ALWAYS EAT BREAKFAST!  It will help you to eat less throughout the day.  I try to always include a bread (wheat so that I get some fiber), protein, fruit, and dairy in my breakfast.  My typical breakfast is one of the small wheat bagels with peanut butter, some type of fresh fruit, and a cup of skim milk.  Yummy!

I'm so in! Probably going to aim for 8 pounds (2 per week) this month because 10 is a lot for me. I'm 18, 5'3" and currently 127 pounds. If I'm 119 (or in the teens at all) by July I will be SO HAPPY! I need motivation BADLY. I just ate about half of my graduation cake and didn't count it because nobody saw me... haha oh boy I have a challenge ahead of me. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

I've been looking for a challenge to join for awhile, I hope I'm not too late. I'm very excited to start this because I have been having trouble finding motivation and this seems like the perfect place to get some! I'm 21 years old and am 5'2". My starting weight is 153.2lbs and I'm looking to lose 10lbs by the end of June. Thanks for the challenge and good luck to everyone!

I weighed myself this morning and my weight is 169.4. 

Jodi- please add me Vievien at 130 lbs this morning.  I've been going on a 2 hrs. walk this weekend and been counting my calories intake.  I am hoping to lose about 10 lbs.

Count me in. I weigh 161 as of right now and can't fit into my shorts from last year. I gotta do something. I am recommitting after vacations and funerals and finals.

My goal is just an estimate. I don't really believe I will lose 10 lbs this month, but it's good to be hopeful.

Whether we lose 1 lb or 10 lbs we are all making the effort to be healthy and that is what is most important.

Remember don't starve yourself to lose weight...drinking lots of water and eating healthy that is the key. And to watch those extra pounds shed off adding a good exercise routine in will help:)

Hello all!!

I'm hoping to participate too... I know I'm a little late, but I need this challenge--my wedding is in August and I need to go try my dress on in late July! 

I'm 5'2", started at 146, am down to 140, and hope to eventually reach 125.

I've been exercising a lot, but need to get my food in control again, and I really think this will help.  I'd love to get well into the 130s this month.  Put me down for 8 lbs; I think that's reasonable.

I would love to join! I'm trying to lose those last few pounds! I really need this challenge because I keep overeating and eating when I'm not hungry.  I dont know what my problem is!

I'm 5'4. I've been on CC trying to lose weight for about a year. I reached my goal last summer but over the schoolyear some of the weight creeped back on.

BIG Hello to Everyone (all 30+ of you!!!), hope the start of the challenge has been good for you. I'm happy to see such a large team of people working together towards this challenge.

How is everyone exercising for the challenge? I have so far been losing by changing my way of eating but i think i need to step it up for the challenge - is swimming effective? anyone doing any fun classes at the gym they can reccommend?

having a boring day today so surfing the forums a lot!! swimming is great as it uses all your muscles but whenever i go swimming I come out of the leisure centre feeling reallly really hungry! Apparently this is to do with the cold water, and the fact that you don't sweat as much as cycling/running as your body stays cool.

Ive started running for this challenge... but i hate it as i feel really stupid watching all the super skinny girls in shorts running past me!! When I used to go to the gym (i can't afford it anymore), i used to love body pump. You use weights to tone and work near enough every muscle in your body, while burning calories at the same time. If you are a member of a gym that offers it maybe you should try it? I fet so fit at the time, a lot more toned, and my weight dropped off quite quickly (unfortunately it all came back after i stopped going and starting eating more!).

Good luck with the challenge! I'm currently waiting for some new work out dvds to arrive so I can try and save the embarassment of running for when i'm a bit thinner!
