Hi! My name is Jodi...I am new to carlorie count and was wondering if anyone would like to join me in challenging yourself to lose up to 10 pounds in the month of June.

Healthy weight loss is 2-3 pounds per week so I chose the median number of 10. Even if you manage to lose 1-9 pounds that is GREAT!!!!!. It's always nice to share our triumps and challenges over the course of one month. And as a new member it is also a nice way to meet new buddies.

If you are interested just reply to my post and we can all record our starting weights on June 1st and our ending weight on June 30th. All are welcome whether you are a new member or an exsisting member.

I will be here everyday to lend my support...so lets all get together and suppport one another for a sucessfull June weight loss challenge!!!!!

WOW!!! So many grand accomplishments already....there is only five days until the weigh in. So what I will be doing is posting everyones start weight here on June 2nd before midnight so that gives everyone a chance to give me there weight and on Monday of every week until the 30th we can have a weigh in and I will keep the post updated. All those that are interested just send me a message in my inbox of your start weight and keep me updated until the end. Not too sure if you have to add me as a friend or not to send me a message, if so please do and I shall accept.

Good Morning Everyone,

I woke up this morning and walked for 20 minutes on the treadmill. I workout for an hour after work, but I thought it might be a good idea to get a little jumpstart in the morning. I definitely walked into work a little more bright eyed and bushy tailed. How is everyone else feeling?

Hi all,

I gained some weight back that I lost last year and I'm feeling bad about it so I'd like to join in hopes of finally getting to my goal weight.  My starting weight was 182, today I weighed in at 172.8 on June 2nd (today) and a goal weight of 162 by the end of June though I'd like to get to 145 by September.

What are your favorite exercises?

Hi!  my start weight yesterday morning was 148.2

had a really good run/jog yesterday - felt great!  Now i just have to keep up some consistency for the next month and I think I'll be fine.  My eating habits are pretty good during the week.  weekends are another story. 

i'm thinking about giving up alcohol, except for something like 2 or 3 nights for the month (special occasions, or when you really need one).... anyone want to try this?

Hi sawerdshy!  Keep it up!  I am feeling great this morning too.  I played volleyball yesterday for 30 minutes at the beach and walked 20 minutes.  I also used the leg magic (130 counts) before bedtime.

I've stayed below my calories intakes and was told not to, because your body goes into starvation mode.  I am a lot closer to my real calories.  I don't know why my weight is still the same but my pants and shirts is loose.

You had mentioned that your weight is the same, but your pants and shirts are loose. It's probably because your are gaining muscle and you are trimmer. And muscle weighs more then fat so your weight isn't changing. Way to Go:)

Jodi- If I am gaining muscle and not the weight,  how do I meet my goal at the end of the month?

As long as you feel healthy and know that you are doing everything you can for a better you. Don't worry about losing all of 10 pounds. You are gaining muscle and even at rest those muscles are boosting your metabolism..so you may not see the goals this month. But ultimately they will be there...You Go! Girl! :)

I'm in! Realistically, I think I'll only lose 5-8 at the most, but 10 pounds would mean I'm a fifth of the way to my goal!

Thanks for the encouragement on the swimming - i think i will start this up but for the moment i do a few exercises sporadically when i am at home like the plank or some wussy wall push ups but hey i'm doing something right?

I'm so proud of you for running. I think outdoors running is so much better than the gym anyways - enjoy your surroundings and forget the people. As for body pump maybe you can do some of the exercises that you have learn at home? or try some moves using your own body weight. I tried this class before it was really tough for me but i felt like something was happening for the better Smile Hope you get your Dvds soon and best of luck for the challenge!

No Jessica you aren't too late to join I just won't be recording anymore weights for this week. Just remember to send me your weight  for next week by Tues June 9th.

My weight for this challenge was 172.8 on June 2nd.  My original post mentioned my starting weight but that was from when I first joined Calorie Count a year ago, my starting weight this challenge is 172.8.  Sorry for the confusion.

 I do push-ups and tabletops (where you raise your bum off the floor while on hands and feet) in my office when no one is looking. I spend the whole time hoping no coworkers walk in. lol. They would just laugh, I think, but it's exercise.

Oh yeah, I had a big accomplishment last night. After our weekly poker game, where I abstained from alcohol, my dh asked me to take him to taco bell for 4th meal. I managed to leave without ordering anything for myself, or eating any of his. WHEW!!! Now if I could just get him on a healthier track.

I was out of town till yesterday, so I took my first June weight this morning--it was 139.5  It's TTOM though, so I'm hoping to lose more than one pound by next week.

Today I went running, had some yogurt and cereal for breakfast, and a hard boiled egg. I'm also thinking about cutting out alcohol for the month, except for a couple 'going out' nights I've already got planned...so that'll be good.

I realize I am joining the challenge late - but for the record my weight on June 1 was 180.  I am hoping to lose 30 pounds by August 30 - so this challenge will certainly help me. 

I am being really careful about what I eat and recording it so I keep track of my calories.  For exercise, I walk, do some stability ball exercises and do a Zumba class a couple times week.

Here's to a thinner summer!
