Okay so I have lost 42lbs (315 to 273) since 6/1.  I still have a long way to go but feel frickin great!

I was able to stop taking my antidepressant (I swear its the exercise), buy new cloths and I am actually looking forward to my vacation in about 2 weeks.  I just tried on my bathing suit and had to dance around the living room with it on because it looks so much better now!!!

I just had to share!

Yay! That's so awesome!

Congratulations on your weight loss and other successes to this point!

I hope you take my feedback seriously- did you get your doctor's permission to get off of your anti-depressant?  I have depression, anxiety, ADD, and mild bipolar disorder, and I have been "on top of the world" also at times and got off of my medication only to discover disaster a few weeks later.  Please make sure that you are still seeing your doctor or therapist on your 6-8 week basis like normal.  I would recommend changing your dose to a much lower dose, maybe around 5-10 mg for an anti-depressant, at least for now.  If your doctor OK's it, you can try to ween yourself off of it.. but please, I urge you, talk to your doctor.  Even if you weren't a raging suicidal maniac before you started the meds, you very well might be once they completely leave your system in a few weeks.

Kate-

Thank you so much for your concern but yes I did take my self off with my doctors guidance.  I was only on a 5mg dose once a day so there really wasn't a much lower dose.  Also I was on them more because my mom had died and slipped into this major depression that counseling alone wasn't working.  So I am still seeing my doctors, going to counseling (2 times per month) and am watching my moods carefully.

Thank you again for your concern.  I probably should have mentioned that in the original post. :-)

Good, I am so glad :) I have made the horrible mistake of getting off of medication without a doctor's consent before and it landed me in the worst state I had ever been in my entire life.   Keep up the good work, you're doing great!  You should be VERY proud of yourself :)

Congrats and well done - that is a wonderful achievement.  Thank you so much for sharing your fantastic success - it really helps
