High-protein diet

Quote  |  Reply

Good evening/morning (according to your local time :-) ) my friends,

 I am following a high-protein diet.

Today, in total, I ate the following:
2 boiled eggs (only the whites)
3 slices of whole-wheat toast
cottage cheese with tomatoes and cucumber
a glass of milk
grilled meat
green salad
watermelon
peach
2 apples
yoghurt
Omelette (2 eggs with cottage cheese)
is it enough for a high-protein diet? what am I supposed to eliminate?
will this help me lose weight?
Can I eat as much as I want from proteins if I am on a high-protein diet?

Thanks!

I have an average 51.5 kilograms. How can I reach 45 kilograms. I have an average height of 166.5

What can I do to lose thigh fat?  What foods must I eliminate from my diet?

Is my diet healthy?

:-) Best wishes with your diets.

If you enter your stats into this chart (65" 113lbs) and I'm assuming the '94' in your username means you're 15 or 16 years old?...  then you'll find that you're already a low but healthy weight for your height.  Were you to reach 45kgs (99lbs) you'd not only look hideous but you'd be dangerously underweight and would probably end up in hospital.

Young people especially need a balanced diet and your planned diet is neither balanced nor healthy.  As a young person of a healthy weight you need 2000 - 2400 cals a day average to be well-nourished and to allow your body to develop and grow.  A quick calculation of your menu above brings it to around 1000 cals.... that's a disaster.

So my advice would be to stop trying to lose weight and start eating properly again... a wide variety of different foods and enough food in total.  Otherwise you're going to make yourself incredibly sick and probably depressed into the bargain.

If you're struggling with your confidence, having problems with self-esteem or feeling self-conscious about your body, do talk to those closest to you e.g. your parents and tell them how you feel.  Making yourself ill isn't the answer

Hey,

First I would like to thank you for your reply. And yes, you are right, I am fifteen years old. You do not seem to get my problem: I am not fat in the thighs, but I do want to lose some thigh fat. I want to have slim thighs. I do not want cellulite, and I do not want to be pear-shaped. This is what I fear. This is why I have to be careful to what I put inside my body, as there are some foods that go straight to the thighs, I do not want this to happen :-( . I want to have a nice body. I want to know how to eat healthily and at the same time manage the thigh fat. I do not exercise a lot, because the city where I live is not really into sports, so I jump the rope and do some exercises at home. Do you know how to help me?

You can't spot reduce one particular area of the body.  If you don't want cellulite, eat a healthy balanced diet of unprocessed, unsalted foods and drink plenty of water.   As it seems that you're not really sure what a healthy balanced diet looks like this website is a good resource http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/agesandstages/teens /  You need carbohydrates, lean proteins, fats ... all kinds of foods to be healthy.

The other way to make sure your legs are in good shape is to be active and therefore well-muscled.  'Dieting'... cutting calories, eliminating important foods, eating irregularly etc... doesn't help muscle-tone so make sure you're getting your full energy needs rather than skimping.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your help. I am going to check the link you sent to me. It seems to be pretty interesting. I am guessing you are English, aren't you?

^^

Yes, English...  That website is very good for information.  Dispels a lot of popular myths such as 'dairy makes you fat' or 'vegetarian diets are healthier' or 'skipping meals helps you lose weight'... and will give you a lot of good tips on how to make genuinely good food choices.

Please do forget all about a high-protein diet or a 'diet' of any kind beyond one attached to the words 'healthy' and 'balanced'....  For example, don't cut any foods out completely but enjoy everything in moderation.  And it will help a lot if you stop thinking that you have fat thighs or that you need to lose weight.   Find other ways to boost your confidence that don't revolve around the bathroom scales or the tape-measure... you'll be a lot happier if you do.

Actually thats not true for the most part. Fat is deposited in areas of the body with little or no movement. Mainly because if you don't move it won't consume the energy thats being stored in that particular place in the body.

Thank you, mr. Omario. Your reply really counts and is put in my mind. I do not seem to be exercising enough, this is why I think I should be concerned about what I eat, especially foods high in fat, like sweets, and sugar.

Yes, I think you are right. I have been a little obsessive about what I eat for a long time. Through Calorie Count, I relax, and think that losing weight is easy and simple, if you have the strong intention.

your welcome =] always a pleasure to help...
