high protein/ high fiber dinner ideas
Ok, I'm probably just a spaz and shouldn't worry so much about balancing my meals, but I noticed I'm low on both fiber and protein today. I don't feel like I ate any differently than most days so maybe I'm just paying more attention today. Anyways, does anyone have any good dinner ideas that would help round out my day? No meat please. Thanks!! ![]()
pastas are relatively high in protein and fiber (get the enriched nutritious kind). u can add tofu which is high in protein, beans, and of course veggies. All together I'm sure u can concoct something. hope that helps
yes that does. Thanks! I actually just made a whole wheat linguini with a tofu mushroom cream sauce. I was thinking more along the lines of quinoa or brown rice at first for the protein and fiber and then I checked the labels on everything and my pasta had more of both.
I'm still open for more good dinner ideas for future use if anyone has them!
I realize it is a bit on the processed side, but I am a fan of the Thomas's light multi grain english muffins (8g fiber) with a veggie burger, cheese (low/no fat), avocado (for flavor and vitamins), a side of broc or your fav veggie.
Or if looking for something uncooked - Greek yogurt with your fav high fiber cereal and some almond slice
hi, wow, i dont even knw whats considared high, low, or good?
beans
I need to eat a high fiber/hi protein diet in order to feel well...too little of either and I feel sluggish and bloated. ( Mostly eat low sugar too). Here's a few meal ideas...
turkey or veggie burgers on whole wheat toast or buns w/ sweet potato oven fries ( spray w/ Pam and season well...yum!)
Whole wheat pasta tossed w/ pesto grilled chicken w/ lots of grilled veg tossed in
Vegetable Curry ( broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, apple, zucchinni, summer squash) over whole wheat noodles. you can add some tofu or meat to this.
Homemade chicken soup w/ Kamut berries or barley and veggies
Turkey chili w/ lots of beans ( pinto, kidney, black). I even throw tofu in this and my family doesn't know- just sautee and season w/ chili powder and cumin before you toss it in!. Chili is a great place to sneak in fiber...think ground up chickpeas
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
