According to a trainer at my gym I'm suppose to be taking in about 1700 calories a day with about 50% carbs, 30% protien and 20% fats and a natural sugars, however, I was raised vegetarian and live off a diet dominated primarily by fruits and veggies.
I have two problems:
1. I'm only getting about 1200 calories a day and have trouble eating more as I get full.
2. I need more protien!
I don't eat red meat, any suggestions on high calorie (healthy) or high protein foods?
Nuts, nut butters, peanut butter, beans, tofu. Although you probably eat these and know about these already. Whenever I am under my calories I have some almonds or put peanut butter on rice cakes.

Bingo! The great thing about whey protein powders is that over 80% of the calories come from protein (when mixed with water of course). The kind I use has 24 grams of protein and 120 calories per scoop! Can't beat that protein to calorie ratio!
And omelets made of eggs plus added egg whites is great too... as is Greek Yogurt!
quinoa
Depending on the type of vegeterian (lacto-ovo, vegan etc...)
Egg White Protein powder, Rice & Beans, Cheese, Cottage Cheese, Yogurt, Fish

If you're concerned about getting pure protein, no carbs or sugars, I suggest the brand Nectar. 22 grams of protein isolate with 0 carbs 0 fat 0 sugar and only 90 calories!
My veggie (not all vegan and not all complete) sources of protein:
eggs, cottage cheese, whey protein powder, hemp protein powder, nuts, nut butters, beans, greek yogurt, soybeans, tempeh, tofu, cheese.
I have also recently switched to sprouted grain breads (ezekiel), because they have complete protein.
Thanks for all the responses! They're all really helpful!
