I bet you think this is going to be a question about weight lifting! Gotcha. I've learned my lesson there- no pink dumbbells for me. ![]()
Anyway, here's my question: When my husband and I are biking together, he's always pedaling faster than me. I prefer doing more work, less often. I do the same thing on the elliptical at home, high resistance but slower revolutions. My husband thinks this is really weird, but it's much more comfortable/natural for me than doing faster revolutions.
Ok here's my question for real this time: Will this affect effect my fitness at all? I can't imagine it really makes a difference (I mean, my heart rate is the same with both) but hubby's worried about me. What do you guys think?
I BELIEVE that it would have the same effect that it would in weight lifting.. more resistance=more muscle more revs=cardio .... thats what i believe but dont know so take it with a grain of salt
I'm pretty sure that the higher candence (revolutions) will be better at minimizing knee and other joint pain. This is what they teach you in my spinning class anyways.
