Hippie name UPDATE !

Hey everyone!  A few months ago I posted a topic asking your opinions on "hippie" names. I was VERY pregnant at the time and considering a "hippie" name for my daughter.

Well, she's here!!!  I figured I should reveal her name for those curious people out there.  We decided against the "hippie" name which was Sunrise.  Instead we named her Nevaeh..."heaven" backwards.  I guess that can be "hippie" in it's own right.

We chose that name for two reasons. The first being that it would represent the 4 loved ones we lost to "heaven" the year before we got pregnant.  Two of those loved ones were her siblings.  The second reason was that it was the only name on the list (we had not decided on a name til she was about 4 hours old) that had a "V" in it like our other children.

P.S. Man!  Did I use alot of quote marks in this post!  Lol

I love that name! its my nieces name as well, Nevaeh Grace, but they call her Nev or Nevy for short. Good choice

So how is it pronounced?

It is pronounced nuh-vay-uh.  Some people keep it 2 syllables...nuh-vay.

Congrats on the little girl and I may be a bit biased but I adore that name. That is my oldest daughter's name and I have still love it just as much as I did when we picked it. 

I am big on origional names!  Honestly, if I had known how popular this name was before we picked it I might've changed my mind.  I found it maybe a week before she was born and added it to a list of about 9 names.  Once she was born we went down the list & this one fit the best.  Then I got scared that we weren't pronouncing it correctly so I looked it up online.  That's when I found out it was in the top 70 names!

My name, Rhiannon, and my oldest daughter's name, Kavai, are less popular or common than Nevaeh's but I still love it!  She is completely unique from the rest of our family (so far) so it's okay if her name is one of the top 70!  Lol!
