Quote  |  Reply

So I've hit a plateau. Ive been 120-123 for the last month (it changes all the time because sometimes i eat not so well)

I have tried to change my workouts such as

instead of just "walking" I tried interval walking

i added more weight to my strength training, and also changed a few routines

i tried eating less (havent tried eating more because im scared i will put on weight like crazy)

i weighed myself today and am 122, yesterday i was 120.

my bmr is 1300, im a female, i burn about 500 calories at the gym 6 days a week, and eat around 1200-1300 caloires a day (usually all veggies fruit and beans for protein since im not much of a meat eater, also oatmeal every morning and a piece of toast later in the day for carbs)

any other suggestions? ive searched everything ... and ive dont everything it says to do but still seem stuck. !!

help :(

I have been in your shoes!  When I finally stopped putting so much pressure on myself, changed my workout routine (acually eased up a bit) and kept eating reasonably, all of the sudden I went from a plateau that lated a month to a 2 lb loss in a week and the weight kept coming off until the next plateau. I've found, for me, the key is mixing it up -- mix-up workout routine, and vary my daily calorie intake.  Some days I eat more calories, some days less, but I have an overall intake goal for the week.

Good luck!

You don't say how tall you are but I am guessing you are close to my height 5'3" as my Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is 1273.  I know you are scared to up your calories but you can't say you have tried everything, because you haven't tried upping your calories.  I eat 1600-1700 a day and I am losing about 1 pound every other week, mainly fat (which is my goal) because I am doing heavy weight training and a little cardio.  I am at 123 now but started at 155.  When you eat 1200 you are eating below your BMR and that can slow your weight loss.  I found that by never going below my BMR, I never hit a plateau that lasted longer than three weeks while losing the weight.  I think you may want to try eating a little more and see what happens.  I hope this helps.

Everyother day I take it easy on the cardio since im doing more weights, then everyother day from that is my "cardio" day (also leg day) so maybe if i change that up, I just started that plan about a week ago, the month before that i did an hour of cardio everyday with some machines for my back arms chest etc and i found the weight was comming off nice. Thats when I hit my plateau so I changed everything up!

Im going to try eating a little more (although I'm very nervous because I put on weight QUICKLY, maybe it will help)

thank you for your input =) greatly appreciated!!

Oh, and by the way Im about 5"3 5"4 area!

different websites tell me different BMRS, so I just stick to about 1300!!
