I am not hitting my goal calories for the day - too low...

is that why I'm not losing anything, should I be eating more?  I don't know why I'm not getting there, it just seems like every day I'm way under.  I should be eating about 1500 calories a day and today I've only got in just about 800 (too low, I know).  I work out a ton, lifting, spinning, cardio and am going to be starting in a running class this month too, so I am typically burning about 700 calories a day through exercise too.  Is this a problem for anyone else and if I ate more, would I lose more weight?  I weigh 135 now and would like to get down to about 110-115, though this site says my goal is 106...thanks for any thoughts  Laughing

i think that's most likely why you're not losing weight. from what i've read, you shouldn't be eating less than 1200 calories a day.  That's what you're doing, so you're essentially starving your body and wasting away your muscles by exercising them but not fueling them.  Since you're active, you should be eating way more than 1200 calories, my guess would be about 2000 calories, but your best bet is to check your burn meter.

Some easy ways to incorporate more calories into your diet, is by adding a smoothie/protein shake in the morning.  You can add whey or soy protein, a banana, some berries, and ground flax seed.  Just one cup of this can give you anywhere between 200-400 calories depending on how you mix it up.  Also adding good fats to your diet like flax or hemp seed oil, or cooking with olive oil will increase your calories in a positive, easy way.  Even if you added this smoothie in the morning to your breakfast, or even twice a day, you'd be well on your way to adjusting your intake, and being good to your body.
