"you have a hobby... it's food"

gotta love boyfriends. haha

After talking to my boyfriend about how he has all sorts of neat hobbies, like being a wrestler (the whole tights, costumes, and TV thing) I was talking about how I dont have a hobby

he looked at me like I was oblivious and said "yeah you do, you have a hobby.. it's food"

I looked at him and said "well gee thanks, make me sound real good"

and hes like "no, no, not like that. you know what I mean-- you like reading labels, and looking for new things to make, and you know all about nutrition and stuff"

then I realized, he was right. I could easily spend over an hour wandering the grocery store just browsing, while hes ready to be out in 15 mns.

I just find it funny and realize i DO have one haha

Haha yup, it's a time-consuming way of life.

lol yes! In addition to sports and art, "food" is one of my top hobbies. Obsession is a strong word... but I could spend hours at grocery stores also.

I agree that counting my calories and trying to get the most for my calories has become a hobby for me, too. I am lucky, because my sister is doing this too and we can talk calories any where, at any time :) It bugs the rest of my family, and her husband too, but we are like two school girls gossiping once we start talking about calories and nutrition.

I get a little kick out of finding things that are lower in calories and healthier, whether it be whole wheat pastas or different lean meats, and then making old recipes new and edible again!  I guess my favorite thing is cooking something that is healthy and finding out that my little boy loves it just as much as I do :)

Geminik88, I want to tell you that you are an inspiration! You have done an awesome job, and I can't wait to be in your shoes one day!

That's my hobby too! I really enjoy learning about food, health, cooking and trying new recipes/foods. And bonus - it's helping me get healthy (my hubby too) and will benefit me the rest of my life. Not a bad hobby to have :) (I look at labels, but I don't count any more - too time consuming)

YESYESYES! i love grocery shopping! i'm one of those students who don't do any sports or anything, so food is my hobby! i think it constitutes as one of the healthiest hobbies one can have :)
