Holey Donuts????

Quote  |  Reply

Anyone ever tried these?  I heard about them on-line but just wondered if anyone had ever tried them before.  They have free shipping right now, so I thought I might go for it if they are decent.  Here are the stats for a frosted donut.  They claim to have no artificial sweeteners:

cal 148

fat 3

sat fat .6

sodium 200

carb 27

fiber 1

sugar 9

protein 4

They are about half the calories of a normal one and 15 g less fat and half the sugar.  Sounds good, but I am wondering if I am better off just eating the occasional "fattening" donut.  Sometimes "diet" food just doesn't taste right to me.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

wow i didn't even know these existed!

I love to buy the powdered cinnamon donuts at my grocery store (Friehoffer brand if you're from upstate NY).  They're only about 200 cals, and taste like a real donut, whereas I'd be suspicious of the ones you're talking about.

actually after doing some research i found out that QVC sold these donuts, so i went and i read reviews from buyers off the QVC website. It seems like some people were dissapointed because they are essentially frozen donuts which you have to microwave, and there were some people that didn't like the taste of a microwaved/hot donut. They seem kinda pricey to me so i don't think i'll buy them.

Thanks for the info - wish I had read that before.  I placed my order earlier today and my husband got the confirmation email that said it was $47 for the donuts.  He was like - how many donuts did you buy??  In hind sight it was almost $2 a donut.  Oh well, hopefully I will like them.

There was a deli in my neighborhood that had them at one time. They were really really good fresh! Some of them were very prettily decorated. I liked them alot, but it was still easy to overdo since they were light and not that filling. Two of them could add up to 300 calories, which is a small meal, for no real nutritional content.

They were a bit pricey too. Not sure why they stopped carrying them.

Okay they were really good!   I had a filled raspberry one today and my daughter had a sprinkled one.  It takes a little bit like a soft pretzel with frosting, but hit the spot.

expensive? yes; worth it? most definitely

my family including two kids (12 & 3) are insanely crazy about these donuts

I just ordered these on Monday because they were offering free shipping. I must admit, I was skeptical, and a little worried that I may have spent a bunch of money on something that might be mediocre. But I LOVED THEM! So yummy, and when heated up reminded me a little of Krispy Kreme, definitely worth it!
