Holiday Party "Drink" Helper

Crystal Light Berry Pomegranate!!!  10 Calories for the whole bottle! Plus it has Vitamins A, B, C and E. I'm in LOVE!  My husband and I went to a restaurant last night and I decided I had some extra calories for the day, so I was going to get a drink.  I even asked the bartender what kind of cranberry juice they used so I could figure up my calories!  Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice 130 calories + one shot of vodka 64 calories =194 calories TOTAL for ONE drink!!!  And that is if the bartender only used exactly one OZ of Vodka.  So, I figured there has to be a better way.  I usually drink Miller Lite at parties for 96 calories, but I find it's hard to know exactly how many you have had so; you have to guess the next day! So we went to the store and found my new favorite drink mixer!I took one bottle of Crystal Light Berry Pomegranate (total of 10 calories per bottle) and 3 shots of Vodka (192 calories) Mixed the two together and had 202 Calories for 3 drinks!  Lasted me all night long! So, for the Holiday parties that there will be drinking at, I'm going to Pre-Mix my drinks and take my own with me - then I will know that I can still drink with my friends and I know EXACTLY how many calories I'm drinking for the whole night - NOW if I can just stay away from the oh so good appetizers!!! UHH!Just wanted to pass on my new discovery to anyone that is worried about the drinks at any upcoming parties!  They don't have it the CC food list yet, so I just added it and tagged it.

this sounds like a GREAT idea! I'll have to pick up some of this for Thanksgiving :)

The Lemonade Crystal Light works really well in margaritas too...it's 1 oz of tequila with CL lemonade and diet sprite...super tasty, and if you add a little extra lemonade to make it more tart you really can't tell the difference from sour mix which is insanely full of sugar!

Thank you for sharing your new discovery with us!!!!  I have my birthday party this Saturday and I wanted to have some drinks but didn't want to blow my diet just because it was my birthday.    So I am doing to do your trick and pre-mix three drinks for myself.  It's a smart way to monitor the calories and make sure that I don't drink too much!  I love it.

This sounds tasty even if I wasn't watching my calories, I have a birthday party to go to tonight and will certainly try this and share if it turns out as tasty as it sounds.  Thank you for the share!

If you like vodka and pears here is a really tasty low calorie one. I bought myself a bottle of Grey Goose pear flavored vodka over the summer and opened it up a few weeks ago after I started CC. You can actually taste the pear, i tried it on the rocks...a bit too strong, so I added seltzer. When i read your post i thought raspberry flavored seltzer would be good too. I like the premixing idea, good way to stay in control!!!

I went to the store today to by the Crystal Light Berry Pomegranate but could only find Pomegranate cherry.  I was disappointed because I don't like Cherry flavored things.  I will try a different store.  Which store carried it there?  What do you mean by the bottle of Crystal Light... is it the premixed bottles? 

I found it at Dahl's (I think this is just an Iowa Store)  I found it on the bottom shelf below all of the  Crystal Light canisters of powder that you have to mix with water  - yes, it's premixed in the bottle already (looks like a water bottle, but only is purple :).  Hope that helps. 

Do you like rum? Rum and Diet coke is a classic and you only get the cals from the rum. I add lime, make it a Cuba Libre.

I am so glad I found this post! I haven't really be out since I started this, but am planing to go this weekend. I love to have a drink (or three) but I also love to not faint when I get on the scale. Thanks, and the more ideas the merrier!

I looked at two stores for the Crystal Light Berry Pomegranate and only found a Cherry Pomegranate or a Berry Splash.  I'm bummed that they don't carry that flavor here.  I did buy a new Crystal Light that I really like called Raspberry Lemonaid.  It's way better than the regular Lemonaid (which I really like) but love the new flavor.

mix any flavor in a blender with ice and booze of choice and makes a really tasty frozenn bev

I always have a Bloody Mary made with low sodium V8.
