Holiday Trimmings Challenge: Register Now!
If you're like me, dieting is put on hold over the holidays. You consider it a victory if you can just keep from gaining (or only gain a few pounds).
It's time to change that. I'm looking for like-minded, weight loss-focused people to prove that weight can be lost, even while doing holiday baking and going to seasonal parties.
This challenge will run from Nov. 15 (one week before Thanksgiving, while you're shopping and cooking) through January 6 (just long enough to account for extra goodies leftover in the house).
I'd like to make this challenge as interactive as possible, so you must be willing to receive e-mail updates, tips, and encouragement from me.
Also, the winner of the challenge (but I hope we'll all win in our own way) will receive a small reward from me, as well as tons of woo-hoos and instant cred.
Let's trim ourselves, not just the turkey.

I would love little reminders that I'm not the only one to hear the 2nd and 3rd trips to the food table are not going to make my holiday any more enjoyable.
When we look back we'll see what a great job we did at staying in control of our daily food and activity plans. Lets all make this the holiday season to remember.
I'd like to join in too. I'm fairly new to CC and haven't had alot of interaction with other members.
What will the guidelines be?
I'm newish too, nanamoss. I'd really like the opportunity to connect more with members and support each other --that's why I created this challenge.
The guidelines are simple. I just need you to e-mail me your starting weight as close to the 15th as possible. Send me updates in weight change at the end of each week (I'll send reminders if you forget).
For the sake of this challenge, I'll be keeping the weight loss a secret, as it's a contest and I'll be declaring a winner, who gets a small gift. I'll post user names and starting weights, and post updates with an idea of how we're doing overall.
On January 7th I'll post the results + the winner. This is the honor system, but I trust everyone to be accountable and fair.

I love the idea of receiving and sending encouragement -that was my main reason for joining this site. And I definitely like the idea of losing during the holidays instead of gaining. So you can count me in as well. Thanks and I'll send my weight on the 15th.
I want to join too. I'm another new-ish person and I've never taken part in a challenge before. I hate the holidays and last year I just got as drunck as possible on red wine. Which I will not be doing this year!
(I'm from the UK, so no Thanksgiving for me giving me an advantage ^_^)

I'm game! I'm so close to goal at this moment that the thought of the holidays just scare me to death. I will truly appreciate the tips, updates, and encouragement. I'm willing to give it my all and your willingness to spearhead this project will give me the accountability I need to succeed. If I can continue to lose at my snail's pace between now and the new year I'd be thrilled!
So, we just PM our weight to you on the 15th and then every Friday or so after that?

Yep. Just mail me your starting weights on the 15th. I know that people like to weigh on different days, so you can e-mail your weight any day of the week you like.
Because we're going to declare a winner, I'm going to keep the individual progress a secret (you won't know what your competition is doing!), but I WILL post general updates to let you know approximately how well we're doing, or how close it is, etc.
I will be posting starting weights, and I'd also appreciate if anyone wants to include some brief info with their e-mails: a little about yourself, mini-goals for this challenge, and especially what your biggest holiday obstacles are (cookies, family, parties?).
