Weight Gain

HI! Im so excited about holidays, im going away next week, But Im nervous for two, well three reasons,

1-keeping up weight gain, Im going to a hotel half board, meaning two meals a day there. Its buffet style.

2-Im still quite small 95 pounds, 5ft5, so Im self conscious about looking v.thin, and I havent shown my body in over a year

3-My stomach looks bigger compared to rest of body cause I know weight goes there first, before when on hols, I would limuit food so stomach would look flat in bikini, now-i dunno what to do

4-(Ok Ive got 5 problems! what can I say-Im complex!!)

In the sun, appetite goes down-its a fact! what to do?

5-How much can I realistically gain before I go over without feeling ill! I desperately want to look well. From 27th June-6th August, just over five weeks, I went from 83-94. But rwo weeks of that time involved an active summer camp, until I go away I can sit on my ass all day!

So?Laughing

It's good to see you're excited about your holiday!

My advice would be to just keep up what you have been doing the past five weeks.  If you try to gain too much before you go on vacation you could end up stressing yourself out and not enjoying the holiday.

And can you bring snacks with you?  If there are food you like to eat daily to help with your weight gain that you can bring along for the ride then go for it!

About appetite going down in the sun, maybe you can get more calories from delicious beverages?

maxx is right you need to continue what youve been doing . this will be a grt time for you to test yourself . try not to focus on apperance , at the end of the day you are underweight . i have the same issue with the belly thing but its normal to have flesh it just dosent seem it cause you are used to having skin so tight . dont let the ed talk you in to not eating cause your not hungry(you mentioned the sun )im not sure if this theory is to true . try to relaxits your time to enjoy , im sure if you stay focused you wil be fine thinkinking of you h x

yes, i've totally been there.

1. if you're self conscious about showing yourself (blech, why does it all go to the stomach first?!) then maybe you don't have to eat quite so much volume. for example, i always eat lots of peanut butter or cream cheese bagels, eggs, cheese, nuts, etc. before i swim. lots of energy, fat, and protein, enough calories to sustain (more because you're swimming) but without so much bloat.
2. great idea about the caloric beverages! they don't fill you up as much since there's no fat or protein, and fun to have if you're in the sun! :)
3. i'd suggest eating more than you think you need. i lost quite a bit of weight on my fist vacation, as did my friends who have also been through this. i think it's because we're so nervous about food away from home that we tend to overestimate the calories in food we didn't prepare ourselves. but if you do slip up a little, don't kick yourself! just get back on track.

happy vacationing! Smile

Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?

You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
