holy cinco de mayo batman - that slice of cheese cake 450 calories

Quote  |  Reply

need encouragement to work out  my company brought in, from my favorite Mexican restaurant, lunch today:

I started out fairly mild eating.  I had some steamed veggies and then went on for 1 tortilla filled with beef, 1 tortilla filled with chicken.  I filled both those w/ lettuce, guac, sour cream and cheese.  Had a scoop of refried bean.  I had some chips w/ guac and salsa and rounded the meal with a slice of cheese cake.  The cheese cake was a bit to much, but it was so good.

I fill a little guilty eating all that, but it was just so good. I didn't bring food back to my desk atleast (similar to Las Vegas...what happened at lunch stays at lunch).  Now I'll get back on the wagon for the rest of the day.  I'm planning a good work out...

Please cheer me on to get re-motivated (plan for tonight is cardio a mix of run in place, jump rope and step for 30  minutes then squats & lunges and calf raises w/ 10lbs.  I also want to do crunches and plank...hopefully I'll get to blow up my new pilates ball to help w/ squats and core.)

Man that cheese cake was good!

Getting back on track...........GREAT!

You can do it!  Laughing

We all mess up every once in awhile.  Just get back on track now and don't use this as an excuse to slip up again.  I know a lot of times I'll slip and my thinking is "oh well, once didn't hurt me so one more won't either."

There is a recipe on here somewhere for a 100 calorie/slice cheese cake.  It's made from cottage cheese and is actually fairly decent.

First of all, you didn't mess up anything!  Ya gotta know how to incorporate real foods back into your life, whether you are eating for nutrition sake or just trying to maintain.  Once we reach our weight loss goal, doesn't mean that a switch automatically flips that gives us permission to attend a feeding frenzy or marathon.  Who cares if you had a slice of 450 calorie cheesecake?  Did you enjoy it like a "regular" person would, or are you beating yourself up because you're "dieting".  I hate that 4 letter word.  I'm not dieting.  I'm learning to manage myself and my nutritional needs.  I'm not always successful.  Most of the time I am.  (Why does my friend, Karen keep a bowl of candy on her counter at her business when she knows I'm trying to control my calorie intake?)  Hard to resist sometimes.  Most of the time I'm the one in control and not the candy.  I don't go out of my way to avoid it.  I don't go out of my way to make an issue of it either.

ohtobethinagain-the recipe sounds great (if you're making it yourself).  I don't know how this would have helped the OP with her situation today.

I'm done now.  Hope I didn't hurt anyones feelings.  Life goes on, and we all have to eat.  Hopefully, we'll all learn something from CC about issues like OP had with the cheesecake.
