Holy cow! Someone please stop me!

Man!  I cannot stop eating!  I stopped counting calories after lunch and I cannot stop eating.  I am in no way hungry, but I can't stop eating.  Just so that I can stop feeling guilty and move on ..

when I got home I had a mini hamburger on a weight watcher english muffin and baby carrotts.  Not bad right?  Then I had a cup cake, then a weight watchers cake thingy, then Fruity Pebbles, 2 sugar free popcicles, then another weight watcher cake thingy (90 cals) Dove chocolate mini egg, roll of smarties, 4 jelly beans .. I think that is it.  MAN!  What is wrong with me?!

I used to do this a ton before I realized how many useless calories I was eating and stopped.

yeah, so today I had a million cinn. rolls that I made last night. I seriously only ate cinn. rolls all day. I did have a lean pocket at dinner, but man did I blow it today!

Don't feel bad.......I was doing great then I went out to dinner...  Had a HUGE chicken parm wrap, ate the whole thing... had a few Jack Daniels wings and then a gigantic piece of Apple Walnut Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream AND Cool Whip on top!!!  Talk about guilt!  Now I'm too stuffed and sick to my stomach to excercise!  I haven't fallen off the wagon that hard in a long time!  I guess we all do it once in a while..

I have those days every now and then when my hunger just can't be satiated!  It's okay, start fresh tomorrow with lots of fiber and lean protein, maybe that will help you to feel full.  And if you have to keep eating, just try to keep it healthy.

Oh same... all i've eaten today is cake and alcohol.

Terrible i know, but i had carrot cake (With cream cheese icing) and a bourbon and cola for breakfast.
Then bourbon and L&P, then chocolate cake when i got home... then L&P and brandy.

... It's not quite 4 and i'm kind of drunk and feel sick.

:S I should work out at 4:30 with my workout buddies but what if i fall over on the steps?! ... Think they'll be suss? lol... *sigh* i feel right off the diet wagon and onto the drinking wagon.

How horrible.

:( Binges are the WORST thing ever in the dieting world.

Get out of the house. Just walk away and go for a walk or a relaxing drive (which I don't do any more because of gas prices), take a book and go sit at the park for a while. Just remove yourself from the temptation. I sometimes have the same problem and realize it when I reach for the fridge but decide to go back to my room, change clothes, grab my key and walk out of the apartment.

Exercise. I kind of experienced that today after i ate lunch. I was planning on exercising around 3, ate lunch at 12 and just had constant thoughts of food between those 3 hours. After i exercised though I wasn't hungry at all anymore and felt so content that I was walking past the kitchen without even a thought of food. I had to force myself to eat my post workout snack. So bottom line...get moving...away from the kitchen.

I do this too :(

Ive managed to get into the habbit of eating healthy food (fruit, honey, oats etc) but i still eat a HUGE ammount of calories. I try to balance it out by eating less the day after, is it still bad?

xXx

Corporate-made factory/packaged foods are addictive IMO (including the "diet" ones).  I've had a lot less problem with overeating since I phased them out of my diet.

I second udokier - when i eat processed diet foods it makes me crave moreof them.  When I eat less of them i find myself more satisfied after meals.

I was reading yesterday about a member who was having the same problem with wanting to eat and eat, so she grabbed a raw onion and took a big ol' bite of it- I guess it worked! She lost that snacking urge...

queen, ack, if I took a bite of a raw onion I think i'd loose my hunger too... lol

I agree with udokier, too - when I have packaged foods I always start off with "I'll just have one..." and that turns into "just one more...." until the box is empty! I do better not having them in the house at all.

Another thing to try is eat really slowly (and not in front of the TV). Take a bite, put the food down, and chew, chew, chew.

Your thirsty, drink lots of water, and then weight about 30 mins and you wont be hungry anymore.

HA! I'd either go one of two ways with that one- I'd lose my hunger and whatever I'd eaten within the previous few hours, OR, I'd wrap a beef patty, cheese, bun, and ketchup around that onion! haha

It must be something in the air....I ate a lot yesterday also, but I just got from a  55 minute walk (briskly)!!! So now I am back on track!!! The eating happens I try not to do it often but once I get started I usually can't stop, so I try not to do it, but if I do, I make it for one day only.....working on trying to make it once a day, once a month!!!! Good Luck with over coming the binging!!!

i know what you mean!! i try not to buy that kind of stuff. but i do have to cause of hubby..... if i dont he is walking the floor.... so i tell myself...."YOU DONT NEED THAT. YOUR FAT ENOUGH!!!" then i run for the scale and see the numbers and then i can walk by it....... and grab a yorgurt! and the yorgurt seems to curb my sweet craving..... good luck!

This happens to me too! If I manage to not give in to that first craving I'm fine but let's say I have one girl scout cookie I will suddenly give myself permission to go nuts.

The really key thing is to stop and think and not give into that first craving. If you do - then put a piece of gum in your mouth (maybe an alternative to that onion idea heh). Anyway, good luck and take comfort in the fact that this happens to everyone!

Looking at what you were binging on and thought, "no wonder!" Refined sugar will send you on binges like nobody's business. those goodies are so appealing but the english muffin (don't matter that it's WW) carbs beget cravings for more. There were carrots (good, but high sugar) that lead to cake (again cake is cake), then the breakfast candy (fruity pebbles), the popsicles, more cake that lead to mini eggs, to smarties to jelly beans.... the problem is not you. It's the illusion that all those things you ingested are actually "food."

Layout your food in advance and make sure you have snacks built into the day. Give yourself a back-up binge food--maybe allow yourself rice cakes or raisins to tide you over til the next meal.

I've found that I can over eat quite well without bringing sugary thing into my house. But at least I'm eating raw veggies, yogurt and whole grains when I get the munchies. My only access to sugary things is at work now. So far so good.

Worse worse to worse---there's always tomorrow
