Holy Crap...PB2

Quote  |  Reply

I just received my order of PB2 powdered peanut butter, and I have to say that it's excellent! I have now a found a great lower calorie peanut butter. This and naurally more peanut butter will be the only peanut butters in my pantry! :)

I've heard good things about this peanut butter...much better than Better N' Peanut Butter. Is it worth ordering online? I subscribe to Hungry Girl, and some things she raves about are only available online, or in some obscure store that I don't want to hunt down just for some protein bars. So...remind me how much it costed again...and if it's good enough to buy online?

OMG!!! I got my first order of PB2 a few days ago--this stuff is fabulous! In the few days I've had it, I've used it in so many things:

-PB & Jelly sandwich (that didn't break the calorie bank!)

-mixed with cottage cheese

-on apples

-pad thai

Seriously, I was REALLY skeptical about this, but I cannot keep regular pb in my house (serious trigger food for my B.E.D., and not possible [for me] to only have a bit of it....it's the whole dang jar or nada).

You have to order at least 4 jars, so I split with a friend and we got the combo pack- 2 regular PB2 and 2 chocolate PB2. The cost, including shipping, was $24.10.

As long as you mix in the right amount of water, the texture is just like regular pb. The taste? Grab a jar of unsweetened pb and a spoon of pB2---I defy you to tell the difference!!

I definitely recommend this!

I definitely recommend pb2 also!  I love it!  I have it on a sliced banana pretty much every day for a snack.  Or in a pb+j sandwich.  It's so delicious, you can make it really thick or really creamy depending on how much water you use.  I think it tastes just like real peanut butter, just maybe not quite as sweet--but when it's with jelly or a banana, those are already sweet so its perfect!  I love this stuff so muchh.

I agree with everyone here. I also like to mix it in my vanillia yogurt, oatmeal, and pancake batter.

I just ordered it.  I got the PB2 and the chocolate combo.  I'm very much looking forward to trying it.

How is the chocolate PB2?

It is definitely worth ordering online!, It's much better than Better N' Better Peanut Butter. It's great for adding that peanut butter taste without all the calories, the only downside I can foresee is that it won't hold together for long, I think you have to eat it in a couple hours, so i recommend you keep regular peanut butter like Naturally more  peanut butter with flax oil (the fats are good for you too!) if you plan on preparing food ahead of time.

speaking of pb, has anyone here tried the smart balance pb? i use the smart balance omega buttery spread which i love, but i was curious as to if anyone has tried their pb... apparently like the buttery spread it contains omega fats. i just want some good reviews before i buy it! i probably will though.

I also got some of the chocolate PB2...I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but I do really enjoy this as well!

The best way I've found to use it:

mix a bit with Cool Whip Free (semi frozen) ----OMG. You'll die. SO good!! However-it did lead me to a very important realization: Cool whip is one of those foods that I can't keep in my house....once I started I couldn't stop!!

I too LOVE this stuff!  I have been putting it on low fat vanilla or chocolate frozen yogurt (in the powder form and mixing it in the yogurt!) or in banana/PB smoothies.  All the taste and not nearly all the calories and FAT!  I've also mixed the powder into sf/ff chocolate pudding, which is lovely.

Thank goodness for this amazing product.

I'm dying to try pb2! but I cannot find it anywhere and my dad doesn't like ordering online because he's paranoid, so I guess i'll just have to stick with better'n peanut butter for now. UHH X(

Frankly I was unimpressed when I discovered that once hydrated, the powder dissolves and the result is that you need 2Tbsp of PB2 powder to create 1 Tbsp of PB. So it's actually double the calories of what it claims....50 cals per Tbsp, not 25. And reduced-fat Kraft is 80 per Tbsp, so you are only saving 30 calories, big deal. Though I do think it will be useful for cooking and not adding any extra fat.

This stuff is excellent!!! I found it at my local grocery store in the organic isle. If you go to their website (http://www.bellplantation.com/), you can put in your location, and it will tell you what stores in your area carry that PB.

I agree. I use both of them. The chocolate is not bad either but I like the regular better. I mix a little bit at a time in a Tupperware container and keep it in the refrigerator.

I haven't tried PB2, but I will if I can find some.  I really like Fitnuz, but apparently not many of you peanut butter lovers do, or you haven't heard of or tried it.  I really like it because of the low calories and 2 tablespoons of powder and 2 tablespoons of water makes enough for 4 slices of bread.  I also really like Naturally More; 169 calories per 2 tbs. isn't bad, and I like the flax seed in it.

But if Fitnutz were sold in stores (it's only sold on line as far as I know), I would buy it first.  It also is expensive once you factor in the shipping.  Fitnutz chunky is really good, also.   At first, for some peanut butter lovers, Fitnutz does not feel right because the fatty oils have been removed.  However, I grew to really like it.  I shall try to find some PB2 and compare it to Fitnutz.

PB2 is great

What is a REALLY good use of it is if you are making an Asian stir fry you can add some of the powder to the sauce/oil to give it the peanut flavor - really good for making sauces
