when i went grocery shopping last week, i thought i would try turkey bacon, WELL, holy moly!! i logged it on here and it got a big fat "F"!! i thought turkey was suspose to be better than the pork bacon?? well my regular bacon is a d+ but higher is cal. hum.... whats your take on this??
My take is simply this:
Your turkey bacon got a big fat F because the grading system is a big fat joke. It is likely due to the sodium content. Don't dwell on it.:]

No worries. Far as I know, 'moley /moly' isn't a real word anyway, and thus has no proper spelling (my spell check even tells me both are wrong)... sayings get to have creative spelling. Don't get too worked up about the few people on here who correct spelling -- just try to ignore them. Everyone makes spelling mistakes (although I don't actually think that 'moly' can be considered one) and people who point them out just appear petty.
As for the turkey bacon, the CC grading system grades water badly if I recall correctly, or at least it used to. Pork bacon probably has a few extra nutrients that up its grade a little, but turkey bacon probably has less 'bad things' and a bit less 'good things' as well that will scew its grade.
why don't you take a deep breath and calm down a little. if a single post gets you this upset, perhaps online forums aren't the best place for you.
all because i wanted to know about turkey bacon!!!!!!
so i googled moly....
Holy Moly - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "Holy Moly" originated as a well-known exclamation by the Captain Marvel Comic-Book characters created in 1939 by artist C. C. Beck and writer Bill Parker. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Moly - 25k - Cached - Similar pages lol!!!
if that is her name mayb she should have said it was her name. i have no idea who she is or what her name is....... just what she said appeared to be correcting, not a reply on turkey bacon...,.
I am almost positive CD was making light, it really is not something to get hung up about (I agree spelling is important, however, everyone does make mistakes -- I've not yet met the perfect person (nor do I wish to)):

I think someone else should add something on the subject... like "no, actually I'm pretty sure she said it's pronounced Mowly, not Molly"... then the OP's turkey problem will officially be solved =)
I just type too slow....
And -- back to the original subject -- the nutritional grades are explained rather well here. If you really believe a food's grade is incorrect, you can report that bad grade (just change it from frozen fruit), and the administrators will look at it -- I have seen food grades change.
What kind of turkey bacon were you looking up? I looked it up and can't find anything with an "F" grade:

****.....just sitting here drinking her coffee reading the definitions wondering why she doesn't eat turkey bacon anymore but loves her Hormel Turkeyroni.....*****
coach_k,
"What kind of turkey bacon were you looking up? I looked it up and can't find anything with an "F" grade:"
i logged it in from the package itself. it is ocar meyers turkey bacon.
Just to join in on the spelling issue... okay I know it really doesn't matter... but the point CD was making is that her name is spelled Moly...
But anyways... Turkey Bacon? That sounds immensley processed to me... I wouldn't worry about it too much. Enjoy!

Then you will want to go ahead and report that as a bad grade -- if all the other turkey bacons' are getting Bs and Cs -- not really fair for Oscar Meyer to pull an F (and I doubt the sodium level is any higher than with Louis Rich or Perdue). Even Oscar Meyer's regular bacon products don't rate an F
In the meantime, you may just wish to log it as "turkey bacon" if the numbers are close -- and your overall grade is important to you

the grade not that important..... just thought turkey bacon was suppose to be better and wondered if it was really better.... so the F shocked me..... that is what i was wondering if turkey bacon was better than regular bacon.?.

In the grand scheme of things, yes -- Turkey Bacon is probably better for you than pork bacon -- if you eat a lot of bacon. If you eat it rarely, go for the real thing, an occasional strip or three won't kill you.
Turkey bacon is lower in saturated fat but often higher in water and sodium. If sodium is not a problem for you, you enjoy turkey bacon, and you eat it often enough to look at it that way -- then go with the turkey bacon.
Actually turkey is no better for you than any other meat. It is an old wives tale that turkey is better. The nutrients and calories are the same.
As far as people playing spelling bee, remember you have children that play on the computer too. :) Just smile back at them.
