Hey everyone does anyone know any home cardio exercises or dvds etc that I can use to get my heart rate pumping , burn calories and whatnot?
Help pleez!
You could try jump roping- that would be more of interval workouts...
Also- a workout video would help a lot- or just cranking up the stereo and dancing.
Good luck
I LOVE Turbo Jam for cardio! It's so much fun and it really makes me look forward to working out!
thnx guys
I just bought a fitness trampoline for £15. 10 mins on that really gets your hear pumping and burns lots of calories too! 42 calories burned for 5mins of exercise!
Taebo
I have lost 35 pounds before using Billy Blanks tae bo kickboxing...I just recently started again and got his new one "Billy's favorite moves". I like doing this because I can do it in the privacy of my own home, after my husband leaves for work (I know I look like a fool, not like the barbies in the video-YET

) and before the baby wakes up. Does wonders to make me feel good too!
I have tried lots of fitness dvd's and right now, i'm stuck on the Shape Bikini Bootcamp series. They are all 30 minutes long, but blast about 350-400 calories for me. I usually do one of those videos, then jump on the treadmill for 30 minutes or so. I try to burn 500 cals per workout.
Just out of curiosity, do you guys live alone? I do pilates DVDs too but I feel awkward doing it in front of my bf. We live together. And he can always see me doing those moves when he's studying in his study.
I second the Tae Bo - Fat Blasting Cardio is awesome, and when I'm pressed for time, the 12 min or 20 min power rounds are good too.
I'm also a big fan of Power Yoga, which is a surpisingly decent cardio workout.
Gomui,
Haven't lived alone for years (married for 13), and I typically exercise in the AM before anyone else gets up, so I don't get self conscious. Even before I switched to morning workouts, I didn't think it was that big of deal, but then, I had known my guy for over 14 years at that point, so there's not a lot to be embarrassed about anymore.
Why do you feel awkward exercising in front of your BF? Does he stare or indicate anything to you?
I'm not sure why, but I feel awkward exercising in front of others too. Not at the gym or a fitness class - everyone else is doing the same thing - but at home I need to be behind a closed door. Preferably when no one else is even on the other side or downstairs to hear me jumping up and down. My bf knows what I look like naked, but for some reason I'm VERY self-conscious about him seeing my uncoordinated dance moves or my huffing puffing sweaty red face. It's not that he comments or stares at ALL. Maybe it's that I don't like him seeing me put in the effort and no immediate results? But he works out too so he knows how it is.
i did the taebo before the boot camp but didnt see much results like other people have just a little. never could get past the second dvd to the last one thought, lol
I want to make a recommendation... Try the Walk 2 to 3 miles video DVD. I purchased it from the store not to long ago and... I am really impressed with it. The video I am talking about is by Leslie Sansone and the video I have been using is "Leslie Sansone's 3 Mile Walk"(She has a series of videos). You can do this in your house and don't need a treadmill. It is a series of stepping in place and controlled leg and knee lifts. I was surprised that I liked it so much. The DVD was under $15. The DVD is one continuous 3 mile workout but they have an indicator that tells you when you have completed each mile. The first mile takes about 15 minutes to complete, the next mile takes about 12 - 13 minutes (so this miles is a little more cardio intense), the third mile is about 15 minutes. So, I can do three mile in less then 45 minutes in my house. And my kids love it too. It is also very easy on the knees. I wore my heart rate monitor and it reported that I burned about 400 calories in 47 minutes.... Not bad for a home video that does not appear to be that hard. This video will allow me to workout when I am not really feeling like working out... Because I don't dread this workout.
I must say that I am more impressed then I ever thought I would be.
Rocky
Me again....I just purchased the new Taebo Amped and that bar HURTS!!! The workout was awesome and so much fun. I definitely felt it afterward at work.

Get a video game system (Wii or Playstation) and the "Dance Dance Revolution" game and mat. It will provide a good workout (and you can invite your friends over as well!)
My roommate and I use Crunch, belly butt, thighs, fat burner. I know it sounds funny but we find that it works.
